Have you tried doing your BMR and your AMR? Jillian Michaels site has both of the formulas. The AMR is important because it will take into account the activity level you are using for training.

Good Luck...

You may have to actually increase your calories to lose weight - doesn't make sense, I know...

Be sure to look at WHAT you're eating too - really try (hard for me when I'm training, I know!) to cut out the less nutrient dense foods and go for absolutely as clean as possible. Make every calorie count fuel-wise. It should help your performance as well.

Thanks! I have been working out hard for the last few months training for 1/2 marathons, and haven't lost any weight (nor have I gained, so I'm happy!), but now I would like to look like I belong in a tri suit! :)
So, I would like to figure out the "losing weight" balance!

I think you can enter your increased activity level and it will change your calorie goals... I'm sure somebody can give you better advice on that though, like Wongerchi.

I will start really training hard for the Nations Olympic Distance Tri in May (race in Sept). Some of the workouts should burn up to or more than 1000 calories. Spark People food plans only have me eating 1200-1500 calories/day.
Any idea what I should up my calories to, in order to train properly (with enough energy) and still lose the last 10 pounds?
Any advice is appreciated!
