Exercise has never been a problem for me, but controlling my eating has been. One of the best ways to get back on track with eating better (and hopefully losing weight) is to log what you eat, and SparkPeople has one of the best tools for doing that. Start with simple steps, and you will begin to accomplish those bigger goals. And definitely sign up for some races to get more motivated for your training. We'll be looking for some updates to hear how you're doing.

You can do it! Register for a race and start preparing for it! Celebrate each success and look for them; small, big, in between, there are lots of them every day!
All the best and welcome to the team!

I guess itís time to quit lurking and introduce myself.

I still see myself, in my mind anyway, if not in the mirror, as a triathlete. I have done 25 triathlons, but I havenít done one in over 10 years. I have been doing all three disciplines for over 20 years now, at varying degrees of consistency and intensity. My exercise amounts and my weight have always rollercoastered, but the past 10 years, my exercise consistency has not been good, but my eating has not slowed a bit, so my weight has gotten way out of hand. My last half marathon (2001), I weighted 220 and said I would not run another half at over 210 lbs. Since then my weight has only gone up, maxing at 246 lbs at the end of the 2009.

I am hoping to use this site and your motivation, to help me control my diet. So I can feel like racing again.
