Hi, I'm new to the team and kinda new to SP (April 22, '12) Spring has arrived in upstate NY (although the weather is currently lousy) But all the outdoor activities I enjoy will be starting soon - sailing, kayaking and biking. Looking forward to an active spring and summer and sticking to my goals!

Good things come to those who SKATE!

Excellent. You should definitely visit my end of the country. I'm in the south of the South Island and we have Milford Sound, Fiordland, the Catlins, the lakes district and Central Otago all within a couple of hours drive of us. Fishing, tramping, climbing, cycling, etc, an outdoors paradise.

Canada is definitely on my list of places to visit too, my wife has family living in Vancouver.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks...

LOL - sadly no sisters....3 Brothers which may explain the competitive nature.

NEILITHICMAN - I read your introduction about tramping in New Zealand. It is on my top 3 list. My Husband spent 9 months cycling New Zealand before we met and has convinced me we need to retire there, I said I would at least like to visit first :)

Cheers,

Kelly

walk at least 10,000 steps a day. my sister lost 93 pounds walking 15,000 steps a day.

find foods that work with YOUR body chemistry.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 37 pounds .

i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.

you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.

I have gone from 198 to 161 pounds. i can now fit into a size 14 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 22 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.

one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth

i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt GREAT.

Hey folks, I am new to the team and relatively new to SP (January 2012).

I love the Outdoors, along with my husband and black lab I camp, hike, run, bike, cross country ski, snow shoe, dirt bike, canoe, atv....pretty much anything that will get me out into the wilderness feeling alive and smelling the fresh air.

I am blessed to live on the Canadian Prairies with quick access to back country woods, gorgeous clean lakes as well as open deep prairie.

Outside of the Canadian Shield, I love to get down to Glacier Park and South Dakota and this year we hope to spend two weeks in Colorado.

We've cycle toured parts of British Columbia, Alberta, England and France - i hope Scotland is next!

I'd love to hear about everyone else's adventures!

Cheers,

Kelly
