I know what you mean... I was deeply saddened at the beginning of the summer to realize I had cracked the upper end of the weight guidelines on my kayak that had collected some dust over the past few years.

Squeezing myself into it these days, but still trying to make some more room in the boat.

The water is great! I'm going on a rafting trip this weekend actually and looking forward to it.

And I'm definitely looking for a buddy! (:

I tend to be the same way...my biggest motivation is wanting to be able to go hiking and backpacking whenever I want!

This weekend, I went kayaking, and hopefully next weekend I'll be kayaking again. When it's this hot outside, I'd rather be on the water!

Let me know if you want a buddy!

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. i cook

4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

portion sizes are critical to your success. exercise has to become a way of life. good luck

Hi, I'm not new to Sparkpeople but looking for a fresh start.

I'm 5'7" and have 30 pounds to lose. Right now I weigh 160. I plan on working hard to build a stronger, healthier body by Fall 2011. My goal weight is 130 pounds.

I want to be strong enough to go on long backpacking trips and hikes with friends and families in the summer and to ski in the winter. I also plan on joining a rock climbing gym once I reach my goal weight. When doing these kinds of activities, I can manage alright now, but it is so much easier to enjoy the outdoors when in better shape.

I am looking for someone with similar goals to support and who can hopefully support me as well!

Today I just got back from a great hike and then made delicious avocado, tomato and feta sandwich with a dab of pesto. How is everyone's day going?
