We have done Stone Mt a few times and I love the hike to the top, it's been a little while since we have been becuase I remember the last climbing the rocks near the top with a little one strapped into his backpack carrier.
I also climbed the stair up Amicola Falls (on the approach to the AT) with the babypack on. We resently took both boys back to the falls and hiked up the stairs with them using their own leg power! Hopefully the next time we climb it we will all have packs and be headed for the start of the AT we are getting the little ones geared up for section Hiking the AT.
They are great little day hikers. We are working on getting the gear to start out doing some overnights and then some weekend trips before we attempt anything longer with packs and gear.

Yes, Rome is pretty nice. The farm where my relatives live is actually in rural Floyd County. When I was down there a couple of years ago, we looked around at Berry College and walked some of the trails there. Also drove through Shorter College. Martha Berry sure was a woman with a vision. We also drove down to Stone Mountain and walked up and down that. No tram for us. Quite impressive...

We are on the west central border of GA but get up to North GA as much as we can. Rome is a beautiful area. I wanted to go to Berry Collage but couldn't afford it :( it has a breath taking campus!

Hi--

Where in Georgia? I'm from Wisconsin but I have relatives near Rome, GA.

Welcome.

Hi I am so glad I found this team! I love being outdoors, be it working in my yard/garden or hiking up mountians.
