Shades will give you a good work out.....its wonderful in there. Might not want to take small kids on the toughest trail though---can be very SLICK.
Don't for get about the dunes here in IN---I live minutes from some great day hiking up and down tall sand dunes, along lake shore, camping, and a great bunch of bike trails.
I live in Porter county :)

Hey Fear-Of-30! We actually were at Turkey Run this weekend, and on the way home I saw the sign for Shades. We'll have to check it out soon. Thanks for the tip! We'll have to check out Southern Indiana too...ohhh the possibilities! Where are you in Indiana? I'm in West Lafayette. Nice to meet you :)

Hey all. I'm one of those people who has always admired 'outdoorsy' people and wished I could be like that. About a month ago, I found SP and decided to make a change. This past weekend, my husband and I took our 2 kids to a state park, picked a random trail from the map, hiked it and loved every second of it. I'm excited and can't wait for next weekend to try something else. I want to try canoeing soon I think. Anyone in Indiana with suggestions for cool places to visit? I look forward to reading everyone's adventures and sharing plenty of my own. emoticon
