It took me 16 months to lose the first 50lb, then I intentionally stayed there for about a year (couldn't afford to keep replacing my clothes, and I was enjoying the ones new ones I had - LOL!) Then I decided to move on down again. My weight loss was slow, but that was ideal. It is also a great way to help reduce the saggy baggy skin that a lot of people get when they lose weight quickly emoticon

I have been at this weight, give or take a couple kg (3-5lb) (which is normal for maintenance) for a few years now.

Kris

Hi. I suggest that you ask your Dr for a referral to a Registered Dietitian who will be able to help you. If you haven't had gluten tests for Celiac Disease, it is best to ask your Dr to arrange for these to be done, but don't stop eating gluten-containing products until AFTER your tests. If you do then you won't get accurate results.

As far as giving up pop is concerned, it sounds like you were going through withdrawals. Some can tough it out, but others find that if you just gradually reduce it then, altho' it will take a little time, you can successfully remove it from your diet. There are a couple ways you could do this. First is to start off by swapping one glass off pop and in it's place having water or tea (without sugar) and the other is to gradually water down what you are drinking. In time you will find that you can give it up completely.

Good luck,
Kris

Hello My name is Tammy , just found out I have gluten and possible dairy allergies. They have also told me I am allergic to artificial sweeteners. and overly sensitive to caffeine. I am 57 and have always eaten what ever I want, when I want , how much I want . which would explain the extra 85 pounds I carry around. .I truly want to lose weight, and change my bad eating habits but feel overwhelmed .the hardest for me is giving up pop. I tried but I get very shaky and have horrible head aches. any tips or advice I really feel like a wimp its only food right?
