Hi!
I too am new. I live in Troy MI. These goals are those I have been trying on my own, and making a commitment is making me a little anxious, but what the heck. More awareness is good for me! I am giving myself a 3 month trial with this site. Thanks for the opportunity!
New recipe for the week for me...1 boiled egg, 1boiled egg white, 2 Tbsp Greek yogurt, 4 salad olives, and a dash (or 2) of Mrs Dash's seasoning. I like garlic and herb. It was a pleasant change for an egg salad for me.

Good evening all! I am new here and for health reason have decided to go veg for good,and hopefully very soon vegan. My T2 diabetes hasn't been in good control and Dr. talking about adding insulin. I will not let that happen! After 2 days of plant strong my BS has dropped to normal and I am thrilled. Wow why wasn't I doing this before?? LOL! Anyway can't wait to meet everyone! Diane

emoticon .......... I just celebrated my emoticon w/ sparks and saw this team ......... as our diet has become so much plant based, it interests me. I have not read enough to see if it is solely Vegan? ............. I am open to change for optimum health and look forward to sharing the best we all have to offer. I am diligently tracking my food, have some form of daily exercise and know I need to reduce carbs ............ so here we go! emoticon

okay So i just found this team today -

now here is my story -- jan 6 was told i was AIC 6.7 -
which i found out is NOT really the big D -- but close enough
dr was very rude - but i found out after what i thought i was seeing a dietician was a diabetic educator (the De) - dr said i lost 1/2 my pancreas -- DE said no 10 percent of it is not functiniong and i was told i dont need to recored my blood sugars by her - dr said (he) said - you are not there yet - -well i don't plan to ever be there -- ...

so far lost 10 lbs - by planning my menus out counting everything --- calories carbs fat sugar protein, sodium - arggg losing my mind ---

now this week i find articles that Vegan seems to be the way to go -

goal is to loose more weight by april - when i go for blood tests -- and hopefully i brought this blood sugar down a fair bit -- ---

so tell me what foods in the vegan diet will help me ? thanks

Hi, I am new to this team. Thanks for the welcome email. I just started the McDougall Diet. It is my hope that it will help heal my Hiatal Hernia and GERD. I've ordered a few McDougall Diet books from the library and hope to pick them up tomorrow. I am giving myself 30 days as a trial for this diet and hope to learn some tips and recipes on this team.

Just joined the group. I'm doing the McDougall diet for my health, my husband is doing it to lose weight. (And, yeah, if I lose just a few more pounds I won't complain!) We ate this way in the past, and it feels good to get back to it. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself!
