So glad to find this team. I've been Sparking since July 2010, but after losing 63#'s and then gaining 20#'s back, I had to take a serious look at my lifestyle and my addictions--especially to SUGAR! I started watching documentaries on Netflix and I'm very motivated to change my dietary habits. I'm thinking of doing this in baby steps.
1. Give up white sugar, white flour, iodized salt, white rice, white pasta, and chemicals especially glutamate . [Commit to reading labels.]
2. To replace all these with healthy alternatives. We've ground our wheat for over 23 years and I make all our bread, muffins, pancakes, etc. **but** I've always ruined the efforts with refined sugar.
3. To move towards a plant-based diet--rich in vegetables, and move away from meat and dairy.
Okay, these are my baby steps. I'm looking SO forward to getting healthier and dropping this weight.
Oh, here are the documentaries I've watched for those interested:
Hungry for Change
Forks Over Knives
Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead
Susan--wife to Dennis and mom to 8 super blessings.
