Wow, impressive horses.

I need to get to Walmart and copy some of the old farming pictures and get them posted.

Believe it or not I'm not that old that I farmed with horses. I do remember one fall when the corn blew down so bad and Dad borrowed a team of horses and wagon and we all walked beside it and picked up the left behind corn from the ground, oh my aching back! The horses went on command from Dad, didn't need to waste a man on the reins. Now tell me, were they the good ole days? Great memories.

Hi,
I am Cathy from Oregon and I am a teacher, but I do have two sheep and I miss my Dad's farming stories. He farmed wheat and corn in Kansas in the early 1900's with teams of horses.

You guys are awesome. I am from utah a farm girl born and raised but now my dad has retired and i married a farmer who has a city job most the time. We do have cattle though and right now it is a full time job keeping them alive and kicking in this 0 degree weather. My father in law runs around 400 acres of hay and I am sure my summer will be filled with balers and swathers and hauling hay!!! oh what fun. I have two kids and girl and a boy and what a hand full they are. Anyway thanks for the welcome.

Hi
I am small time farmer, too. Live in South Dakota. Our crop is prairie hay. We have holsteins, ducks, cats and one Henna (she's a cross between a horse and a mule)

"We are what we repeatedly do; excellence then is not a single act, but a habit." - Aristotle

Don't be content with average. Average is as close to the bottom as it is to the top.

We are a somewhat small group but very cordial. It would be a good time for all of us to get acquainted again.
Small time farmer now,GLBH good looking better half, just can't work the land like she used to. Live in Northern Ill., don't get us mixed up with that Chicago crowd. Have 4 married S's and 10 GK's that we know about. Love the Lord, Family, Land and Life.
My wishes are for you and your family to have a great New Year.
