Suzi Hello and welcome to spark people cheriebabe is 100% correct. You need to take things one step at a time and slowly add the next step. always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Charie babe hello and welcome also. I did like your analogy. It is very clever. Like the torts and the Hare. Slow and steady wins the race.

Take care
Sharleen

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

I guess I would put a little sea salt and maybe some homemade pickles on the elephant.Funny hey.It is a good analogy and something I always remember when it comes to e.g digging up a new garden ,housework or anything that requires time and effort.Ive never actually thought of it in losing weight but this journey is going to take just that-time and effort. But we can do it just one mouthful at a time and end up being fit ,healthy and slim.Yeah.Cherie

How do you eat an elephant?one step at a time.Thats what you can do.Little baby steps and one good choice at a time and you can do it.Schedule time for exercise in your busy schedule and just do it.Plan a day ahead to pack your healthy lunchbox so you dont go through drive through.Keep healthy snacks in you bag or car.Go girl.

TELL US ALITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF: Over the past few years I've pretty much become a workaholic. I have 2 part time jobs and am also working on building up my own business in my "spare time". This is actually a step back for me since before I only had one full time job that I spent way too many hours a week at. This way at least I get some variety! :)
I've got a wonderful, supportive guy that is trying to help me lose weight by making my lunches and dinners (so I don't hit the drive thru windows) and is working out with me (although it wasn't his 1st choice of things to do).
At one of my jobs, I've recently started our own version of "the biggest loser". I started looking for more help when I failed to lose anything week one... so here I am.
I want to lose a bunch, but I'm starting with a small goal that I will hopefully hit within 3 months... baby steps for encouragement!
