I've never heard of Pagan's Mind, but the rest I have. I listen to them every once in a while, but normally just don't "feel it" when I listen to them. If you like them you might like Mago de Oz. They are a power metal band from Spain which is really good.

I recognized most of the names on the list, but only have the Leaves Eyes, mainly because I was heavily into Nightwish at that time and it was recommended. I also love lots of keyboards and orchestrations, but lean toward progressive metal, a la Symphony X, Kamelot, and Pagan's Mind. Have you heard of Rhapsody? (I think they are called Rhapsody of Fire now) You might like them, epic stuff!!!

Of course, no problem GLM.

A lot of good stuff from overseas. Not a huge fan of much that comes out here in the US.

Made me think of a band that I found on myspace called Wartex. Some crazy stuff coming from over seas.

Turisas
Svartsot
Vintersorg (Earlier albums)

Thanx for the info. What bands names can you give us - Need to look up or ask the kids if they have any of this. Sounds very interesting - very curious.

Took this from Wikipedia:

"Viking metal is "noisy, chaotic, and often augmented by sorrowful keyboard melodies."[1] An epic sound is "a prerequisite for inclusion under the Viking metal banner"[2] and bands in the genre typically adopt a "bombastic, keyboard laden" approach.[3] Viking metal acts are known to be "very different in their music"[4] with influences from death metal, black metal and some power metal.[5] Gerhard Storesund from Einherjer contends that "this diversity is very good for the style" and notes that the black metal genre is more monotonous in contrast.[6] Both clean vocals and death growls can be found in Viking metal and the "speed varies from mid-pace to a fast pace."[5] Like folk metal bands, Viking metal acts "generally utilize some acoustic and other unusual instruments in addition to the traditional metal instruments."" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_metal

I used to be on this team under the name Allfather. I have recently rejoined SP and am back ont he team as well.

I listen to a broad spectrum of "metal". Favorite, hands down, is Viking metal. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Take care.

-Jon.
