Hello all! My name is Jenni and I am new to this group. I am a 5'2" girl who weighs 198 lbs. Very heavy for my small frame.... With that... it has been a HUGE goal of mine to actually run my first 5K. My sister recently invited me to join her for a Dirty Girl Mud Run... and I completely bailed on her... because I am so incredibly out of shape. I get winded while walking... how on earth can I run? Let alone through the mud? I want nothing more than to be able to keep up with my husband, my kids, my sister and everything around me. I'm here looking for advice on how to get started? What can I do to build up strength and resolve when pushing myself to these limits? I want to make myself proud that I can hit this goal... I already do excessive walking and have recently incorporated biking. What other things would be good to help me be less winded?
