I have really let myself go re: exercise and food and attitude. This is my -lost track of the #- attempt to get back to feeling good about myself.

I live in NYC and signed up for the Tunnel to Towers 5k for 9/30.

Tonight will be my first time back in the gym in a loooong time and I'll have my C25K print out with me.

Good Morning, Mobii!

Way to go for completing week 1!!! It helps to remind yourself that everyone was new & a beginner once. I'm new to running, also. The important thing to do is to go at your own pace . When I first started SP & C25K 8 weeks ago, a fellow sparkie, Natplummer, reminded me "that it doesnt matter how slow you run, as long as you run." That really helped me get past each week. When I feel like giving up, I slow down. Slow & steady wins the race. :)

I wish you & your beau all the best on your 5K training! You can do it!

Hello everyone, I'm Mobii, fairly new to SP, and very new to any sort of running. My goal is to be able to go out to Texas next year and run with my cousins who both ran a half marathon a couple of months ago.
I have a LONG way to go.

It was suggested that I start with the c25k program and I just have completed week 1....which I will be repeating at the start of my new week on Tuesday.
My beau runs with me in part because he is wanting to take of a bit of weight, and also to give me moral support.

Our first run got rained out after the first 5 minutes, the second went better than I expected and the third was yesterday...I am pretty sore today, but its bearable.

Glad I found the group and hope to get lots of good info and help out as well as I can!
