We're the PNW also. Have done several hikes around Rainier. There are many options short and long, easy and difficult. One of my favorite resources for hikes all around WA is WTA.org Hope that helps you find some great hikes!

I've never been to Rainier either, but it is part of the NPS, and when I researched it before there was a lot of varied hiking trails. www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/wilde

We are planning a trip to the Pacific northwest next year but haven't really begun the research for our trip yet (we live in Georgia so a LONG way away!)

Tell me about Mt. Rainier. Are there lots of hiking trail? I don't want to mountain climb either, but I love hiking!

And Puget Sound has such a nice ring to it - its on my bucket list!

How crazy is it that I was born here int he 1970s and NEVER HIKED RAINIER. My dream is to get to the meadow I used to see pictures of when I was a child. :D I don't think I would want to mountain climb. Just wander up paths and stuff. :D

Hey Toad, emoticon to the team! Have you hike Rainier before? Summit? It's something I'd like to add to my list of summits!

^That is my young friend Miss Tadpole-Marie playing at Point No Point. We hike up there on the beach some, we also hike in Illahee Preserve (which when i was a kid in the 1970s we all just called "THE WOODS" lol). Tadpole-Marie really enjoys her forest rambles and looks forward to the day when she and I will HIKE MOUNT RAINIER!

BTW, call me Toad! (That's what Walosi means in English!)
