Thanks for your response, Linda...I did do it. I thank my Coach at Curves for getting me to do what I thought was impossible. Every once in a while we need to do something impossible.

Yea but just think of how many could have been doing something and were doing nothing! It doesn't matter when you came in but that you got out there and did what you set out to do!

I like your quote that last is just the slowest winner. I was next to last a little over a year ago in the Hyner Challenge, at age 71 after a life of couch potatohood, racing 25 K over three Horrible Mountains. I wasn't ashamed of coming in almost last. At least I did it! At my age! I was the next to the slowest winner.

Katy sounds like such a beautiful area! I've read several books about the Appalachian trail journeys and have thought about it. Sure sounds awesome, even though difficult at times. I've read book by different types of people, from very athletic to those who weren't so much till they got strengthened and in shape before and on the trail. I hope you enjoy it when you get to do the whole thing and until then the other hikes there and other places you get to do!

Hello Team! I'm from central Vermont, which is now just getting green after a long winter. I really enjoy hiking and being out in nature. It has taken me some time to reconnect to that part of my life (I used to hike a lot as a teenager). I'm way overweight at this point, but I'm focusing on building up my strength and endurance this summer so I can meet my goal that I've been talking about for three years: Hiking Camel's Hump. It is a 7.4 mile loop (the way I want to do it) and I want to Enjoy It! I figure I'll lose weight as I train, but that isn't my primary goal anymore.

I've grown up in central Vermont, I have a DH of 20 years and two children (DD - 18 and DS - 12). I love nature and water falls and greenery. One day I want to hike the Appalachian Trail from start to finish. I've got a way to go before I do that and that is okay too. I'm going to enjoy the journey to get there.

Best wishes to everyone!
Peace,
Katy
