EOCross - thanks for the welcome. Have fun hiking the Appalachian Trail. I've done little pieces of it over the years, but never the whole thing in a summer, even in spurts.

Kayotic - what a fun SP name! Thanks for the welcome.

I go with a group of friends as well. We plan a trip per month and now we're in the process of planning to hike the Appalachian Trail in spurts each summer until we finish the whole thing!

I hike the parks and forest preserves that are within a couple hours of home with a group of friends. We don't have the spectacular hiking found in other parts of the country and world, but I enjoy finding beauty where I live. I'm looking forward to reading, learning, and experiencing some of the places where you all hike. I love hiking in Colorado (have family there), our national parks, and my home state of Wisconsin.
