Hi and welcome to the team from Silver City, New Mexico! I've never been to Germany but would love to see it someday. I have ancestors from Germany but I'm not sure just where. Sounds like such beauty to hike in! Enjoy every moment of it!

there are beautiful hiking trails down there! Do you have an iPhone? If yes, check out the hiking apps from Alpstein Tourismus. Those are great and the offer apps for various regions in Germany.

Barbara right now I am in Rhineland Pfalz so I do the Saar-Hunsruck trails that are close by. I am about an hour southwest of Frankfurt, but in a few weeks we are moving to the Bavarian region and will be near Regensburg. I am already searching for trails there.

Welcome. Germany is my home country, and I practically grew up hiking. When I moved to the U.S. this hobby was greatly neglected for many many years. Just recently got back into it. I now have to drive a minimum of 45 minutes in order to do a decent local hike, but it's well worth it. Have plans to do 10 miles in the morning.
Happy trails.

Hi everyone. I'm an American living overseas in Germany. I am just getting into hiking. There are so many wonderful hiking trails to choose from here. My husband and I just did a 12.5k trail yesterday and we are hoping the rain clears up today so that we can do another long hike. My dogs really enjoy it too so this is definitely something I can see us continuing to do even once weight loss is not part of the picture.

We really enjoyed ourselves yesterday. We saw castle ruins, a river, and many breathtaking views of several lovely towns. I thought that I would be pretty sore today, but I am not (just a tiny bit in my glutes) so we plan to go back out today.

I'm excited to join the group. I've been learning a lot of great things and I enjoy reading the posts. Thanks for having me.
