Welcome, neighbor! I'm down south a ways from you, in Vancouver. If you ever get down to the southern part of the state, the Columbia Gorge is a beautiful place with a lot of great hikes and long walks. Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, tons of places to hike down here!

Hello Everyone,

I'm changing my lifestyle. Part of that is to get back in to the outdoors and hiking like I did as a younger person. (I'm 45 now). I have a goal to lose another 105 pounds, and when I get to that goal I want to hike in to the Enchantments. The hope is to hike it during the summer of 2013.

Even at my heaviest, 30 pounds ago, I still hiked and enjoyed the outdoors. They weren't as strenuous as I'd like to do. Lime Kiln was the last one I did in February or March. Lake 22 is on my list for July, once the snow is off the trail.

I'd love to find others in the area to hike with on weekends. Someone close to my ability level. Or someone who is patient with a slow walker. :)

Also would like recommendations on local hikes. I have hiked/camped in WA most of my life, but there is always a gem that I don't know about. Would love to find a few more gems.

Jackie
