So happy I found this team!! I am excited, today is day 1 of 3v3 practice. I was hoping to share with someone and I don't believe my other teams would understand as much as a soccer team. I feel I am in better shape because of SP this year than I was last year. I have been waiting all soccer season for my turn on the field and my boys on the sideline cheering me on. The table is turned!!

Hola! I'm also, Di... and if it involves that round size 5 ball, I'm all about it. My son is a Chelsea fan, but I don't have a favorite EPL squad.

We watch it ALL in this house--including the occasional beach soccer & indoor leagues.

I used to play... and some day, I'll be fit enough to play again.

Welcome Jason! And how awesome that you now are going to be a coach. I'm with you on wanting to play. I've been an avid watcher, but i really would like to learn. United are a great team and it is unfortunate that some people can't give them a break, but i don't care. According to Mr. Terry of Chelsea, he feels the whole world is against Chelsea.

Hi all! just found this team the other day and I am super excited it is here. I recently got into football after never caring before. The 2010 world cup really changed my perspective and made me appreciate it for the beautiful global game it is. I was my friends assistant coach for his daughters team last season and next season we will be coaching both of his daughters (U8 and U12). I am looking forward to eventually being able to actually play myself.

It is also refreshing to see other United fans. When I started following soccer I needed to pick "My Teams" from the leagues I followed (MLS, EPL, and A-League (Australia) and for reasons I can't put a finger on I really enjoyed watching United over the other teams. I feel like they sometimes catch a lot of flack in the media and from people so it is nice to see supporters.

Also, I agree that we should all remain stubborn and call it Football; just because the US (and I am from here) wants to try and steal the name and give it to a lesser sport doesn't mean that the other 5+ billion people should change their ways...

Thanks for being part of such a great team!

@ Alan, i personally think he looks like a teddy bear (: He just looks cuddly, and even when he looked frustrated on the side lines he just reminded me off one

Okay Maggie - I have to ask ... "Teddy bear" was your nickname for Rafa?? Ummm... how did you come up with that?

Hi Maggie, welcome.

Actually the term soccer comes from England. Soccer was derived the -soc- bit of association football, as compared to rugger (rugby). Over time the word went out of fashion in Britain yet has made ground in other parts of the world, usually in areas where there is some other form of 'football' and there is useful differentiation to be had.

Thankyou for the welcomes (:

I hate chelsea and i hate arsenal. I'm from London and I get alot of hate from my family because according to them, "Im not following my local teams" blah, blah, BLAH!! I always had a soft spot for Liverpool, but after teddy bear( Benitez, that's my nickname for him) left, they just went downhill.

LOL Cathy ... that would be fine, except that there is a team sport of Team Handball, which, thankfully, actually does involve using the hands (no feet other than to run with ;-)

LOL! Welcome. I'm Canadian and I'm sticking with soccer!!

Although my nephew asked once why soccer is called soccer when you use your feet and that football is called football (actual football...not soccer/football) when you use your hands. He said it is all backwards and soccer should be called football and football should be called handball.

Ahhh Maggie - welcome!!! Glad to finally have another United fan amongst us. (Seems everyone else are more London (Chelsea, Arsenal) or Liverpool based. And yes, I totally agree with you about the term football as opposed to soccer (and I'm American)!!

Welcome again!
