Back to London, over to Ireland and a European river cruise would be my top choices

Singing, conducting my choir when we can visit long term care homes again, knitting, reading, computer games, hanging out with friends, being with my family.

Working on finally getting to goal although I'm okay with continuing to maintain.

Hopefully finding time to gather with my knitting group - couldn't make it last summer at all

What diet/meal plan are you following?
Just balanced diet, eating a reasonable number of calories daily.

I have done 20 challenges I think, all with the AWESOME A's, the last five as an EL with the team. They keep me motivated and have helped me to lose and maintain weight. More importantly I have made some wonderful friends.

What health/fitness advice has helped you?

Being consistent with calories and exercise as well as exercising moderately.

2 random fun facts about you?

I am a big CLF fan, my favourite team is the Hamilton Tiger Cats. I enjoy going to games occasionally and look forward to being able to do that again,

Anything else you would like to share?

I spend a few days a month caring for my 99 year old mom (will be 100 in August) and providing respite for my sister who is her main caregiver.

We're all here to help motivate and support our teams.

What is your favorite summer activity? I like to go for a walk and then sit and read outside at a park.

I think I would go to India. I've never been there. As long as we are dreaming here...

What do you want to accomplish this season? I want to lose my 5%. I never have, in all the challenges I've been in, and this is the last one. Go me!

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring?
I'd like to keep needing smaller clothes.

What diet/meal plan are you following?
I am following the guidelines in the Tightwad Gazette... Plenty of fruits and vegetables, avoid sugary + fatty foods. Track what I eat, keep protein steady.

What is your favorite exercise? Swimming, walking.

I've done a lot of them! Some better than others, but never reached the elusive 5%!

What health/fitness advice has helped you? I eat mostly whole foods, plant based. That is a game changer!

2 random fun facts about you? I used to work in Africa. I have completed life coach training, but am not yet certified. Getting practice hours in!

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? A little watercolor, drawing, calligraphy. Love to go out to coffee/breakfast. Enjoy decorating at home, growing mostly indoor plants, entertaining, and feeding/watering the little birdies outside. Read/study the Bible, working on memorization. Like playing worship on guitar.

What is your favorite spring activity? Spring? or summer? Love all the blossoms in the Spring around here...and exploring new gardens. We like to RV so as the temperatures get warmer we like to go camping.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? We've been waiting to go to Newfoundland but its been cancelled twice now due to the pandemic so if no pandemic I'd love to go to Newfoundland and then visit family in NB and NS.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? I like walking, hiking, exploring new spaces, taking photos, reading.

What do you want to accomplish this season? I'm really trying to get back on track with my weight. I'm feeling like a broken record but would really like to be successful with the 5% challenge.

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? (again summer?) I would like to be more motivated to get out everyday and moving easier without pain.

What diet/meal plan are you following? I'm trying to eat less sugar and processed foods.

2 random fun facts about you? I'm retired and love travelling with my husband, 2 dogs in our RV.

Just got diagnosed with cancer, so being healthy and getting healthier is on my mind a lot lately. (Seeing the plastic eye surgeon in about 10 days)

What is your favorite spring activity? Appreciating tulips and lilacs

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? Rhine river cruise. I had planned to if I lost 25 pounds, and I did. Canít go yet. Iíve never cruised, but the huge ocean ships donít look like fun to me. But a smaller ship on a river and getting off to explore towns in Holland and Switzerland sounds right up my alley.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? I read a lot (mysteries or suspense) and enjoy drawing and painting. New hobby last year was rockhounding.

What do you want to accomplish this season? Reach my first weight loss goal, and also lose 5%.

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this summer? Go to the beach with confidence.

What diet/meal plan are you following? Lower carb, less processed, stay in SP range.

What is your favorite exercise? Jazzercize and hiking

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. Iíve done a few. Summer and fall 2020 were my most successful.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Tracking food intake and being very consistent with intake and activity.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Gardening, home steading, reading, wine tasting, biking, beach - looking for sea glass, hiking, travel (wish I could do more

What do you want to accomplish this season? Continue losing! Gain strength, hit Onderland and stay there.

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? Drop a pant size! Jog a whole mile without stopping.

What diet/meal plan are you following? None really. Eating less and exercising.

What is your favorite exercise? Right now, Leslie Sansone videos

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. I have done Fall 2020, Winter 2021, Spring 2021. I did great in the first challenge and I think lost my 5%, but gained a few back. Didn't lose as much in winter, but kept it off mostly, and consistently lost a pound a week in Spring. Hoping to keep these pounds off.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Just keep going, no matter what.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Make healthy choices and consume what you want in moderation.

2 random fun facts about you? I am writing a novel and I love Karaoke. I can't sing but I do it anyway.

Anything else you would like to share? My grandkids came to visit from Nebraska on May 27th. They will be here for a few weeks. It is a very special time for us. We camped over memorial day weekend, we have a Red Fishing trip planned and and also trips to the beach.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? The videos by Dr. Sten Ekberg have changed my life

2 random fun facts about you? I keep a list of all wildlife we see when we travel and my cousin says I'm witty.

Anything else you would like to share? Most of the weight I have lost is from diet alone. I am unable to lift weights or do traditional exercise. My right rotator cuff has 2 complete tears. Had surgery in 2018. It couldn't be fixed. My knees have little to no cartledge left. Four years ago I fell off our porch and landed on my left hip on a concrete flowerpot. Needless to say, my hip still gives me trouble. In February 2020 my husband and I were rear ended. It has left me with great lower back pain. I use a cane when I leave the house. I say all of this to say, by the Grace of God I am still here. I have not given up. I am determined to once and for all lose this weight and keep it off for good.

There is no real 'name' for it as it is quite restricting as I am Gluten intolerant/Lactose intolerant/Peanut intolerant and my body does not process and metabolize animal fat nor protein. So it is strict Vegetarian without any of the aforementioned intolerances!

What is your favorite exercise? I don't know as I have one true favorite .. It's a toss-up between Archery and Bicyle riding!

Your Location: big city near you, province or state, country. Kissimmee, Florida, ten miles from Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios.

What is your favorite spring activity? Gardening. Last month I just planted 2 each of lemons, grapefruit, limes, and kumquat trees. I also planted a banana tree and a blood orange tree. Oh and 2 little Christmas trees. All in my backyard. So far they have stayed alive :)

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? I would love to go to Greece. I always loved Greek mythology, and to see where the stories originated would be fascinating.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? I really enjoy decorating my home inside and out. I built my house almost 4 years ago, and love turning it into a home. I also like doing things with my daughter, like crafts, parks, or cooking. The cooking we need to cut back on LOL

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? I am finishing up my last class with my son towards being a paralegal. Not my career though, I am a nurse, have been 23 years now. The paralegal classes give me something in common with my son.

What diet/meal plan are you following? I am currently using the Noom app and trying to stick between 1200-1500 calories a day.

What is your favorite exercise? Walking is easiest for me.

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? Fitting into my summer clothes and being able to tie my shoes without feeling like Iím cutting off my air supply.

What diet/meal plan are you following? Currently nothing. I am working on getting into the habit of tracking on MyFitnessPal.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? Rural Japan, compete 180 from the way I live and I'd love to just take in the difference in experience, breathe in the calm.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Read, play video games

What do you want to accomplish this season? Get a bit closer to actually hitting my 5% than last time, keep the NSVs rolling

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? I'm very close to no longer being rounder than I am tall at my biggest measurement

What diet/meal plan are you following? Combo Spark/ Dr. reccomendations

What is your favorite exercise? Strength training

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. I've done many, to varying degrees of success, but I always have fun

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Drink some water before eating if you think you might be bored and not truly hungry.

2 random fun facts about you? I have a three octave singing voice, and once upon a time I was a gymnast.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? I want to see every beach! I love the beach.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Read, swimming, walking my dogs and family time

What do you want to accomplish this season? Reach 5% goal

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? Clothes! I want to not walk past a mirror and ask why am I wearing this, conceded but just want to be myself.

What diet/meal plan are you following? Clean Eating

What is your favorite exercise? Strength training

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. Each challenge moves me closer to my goal & keeps me on track & accountable. None

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Exercise first thing in the morning as soon as your feet hit the floor before your brain realizes what you are doing!

2 random fun facts about you? I teach Special Education and I have a special needs child.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Read, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, art & sewing.

What do you want to accomplish this season? To keep being on maintenance.
What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this Fall.? Move to an apartment.

What diet/meal plan are you following? None. Eating within the amount of calories allotted to me.

What is your favorite exercise? Leg & arm.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. Each challenge one keeps me accountable. Besides meeting a lot of wonderful caring people.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Exercise can be in 10 minute segments.

2 random fun facts about you? I enjoy being with my group of friends and those that I do not see too often we talk on the phone. Having my #3 daughter and her family come to visit & my #1 son's. They live the closest to me.

What is your favorite spring activity? - Getting my yard summer ready, and starting my gardens


If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? - Outer Banks Strand Islands. I love the ocean.


What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? - I'm slowly rediscovering my hobbies again. Learning what I'm physically capable of.


What do you want to accomplish this season? - I want to drop another 10 lbs. I want to rebuild my strength and start adding some weight/resistance training to my routine every day.

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this summer? - Build confidence.

What diet/meal plan are you following? - Intermittent fasting on an 18/6 schedule. No white carbs.

What is your favorite exercise? - Weight Training.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. - I've done 3 challenges now, I find that they are a good way to keep me accountable for logging into my Spark page daily. I also blog more when I'm doing challenges!


What health/fitness advice has helped you? - respect your own limitations and process.

2 random fun facts about you? - I'm recovering from major skull/neck surgery (January of 2021), and I have 4 kids (14,10,4, and 2)

Anything else you would like to share? - I have some growing to do. My medical decline in 2020 took away a lot of my confidence and motivation. Now that I'm post surgery I'm slowly learning to respect myself and my limitations. They aren't barriers per say, but challenges that I need to learn to adapt to in order to over come them.

I'm guessing this is supposed to be favorite summer activity? So, hiding inside from the Texas heat and humidity?

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why?
MAYBE Corpus / Port Aransas? I generally prefer to stay home with my dogs.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies?
Hang out with my dogs, read, sometimes write, play too much Farmville. I look forward to eventually going back to the gym and practically living there again.

What do you want to accomplish this season?
Survive the summer heat? Take my great dane puppy to training classes!

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this summer?
I just want to survive.

What diet/meal plan are you following?
Staying in Spark's calorie range

What is your favorite exercise?
Biking at the gym, swimming (in a lap pool or open water), running when I'm able, strength training

I've done a few and loved them all. I don't want to let the team down, so even if I won't do something for myself, I will for the team.

What health/fitness advice has helped you?
ANY food is better than no food. If I'm having mental health issues and can't eat, cookies are still better than skipping meals and spiraling downward.

2 random fun facts about you?
My dogs are ridiculously spoiled and I love horror movies

Anything else you would like to share?
Summer is the most stressful time of year for me. The heat is unbearable and makes it difficult to do things. I *might* need some extra support this round, but will absolutely do my best.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? When I was growing up I learned from my father that if you made your home wonderful there was no need to travel anywhere else.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Gardening, Driving carriages and carts

What do you want to accomplish this season? Staying on track with health goals and learning more about gardening while enjoying old and new friends.

2 random fun facts about you? I am retired but I have been and always will be a nurse of animals and people. My Dad called me Bugs when I was very young because I was fascinated with caterpillars, sow bugs and such. He and Mom would catch Gypsy Moths and such to show me. I still have a great interest in the natural world.

Anything else you would like to share? I am a believer in my Christian God and know there has been much intervention in my life...all my life.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? Shanghai, because of old movies I watched

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Play computer and board games, read, listen to music

What do you want to accomplish this season? Basically trying to get organized and on a schedule for exercise and maintaining weight, although if I can lose another 5 lbs that would be fine

What non-scale victories (NSVs) will you accomplish this spring? Lose some inches especially from tummy

What diet/meal plan are you following? My own which is a combo of DASH and diabetes diets

What is your favorite exercise? Walking and grow young foundation w/o

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. Been in many, enjoyed each one, have never actually lost 5% but have leaned from teammates different things to try to maintain a healthy life style.

What health/fitness advice has helped you? Don't get discouraged, no matter how slow, in 2005 I was 216, today I am 175, it has taken a long time hit many plateaus, many times felt like giving up but I kept a journal of what I ate, exercise, successes and those things no so successful, when reviewing I would see how far I came so don't get discouraged. One step at a time. Also, I set small goals, like 10lbs, then rewarded myself no matter how long it took.


2 random fun facts about you? I am red hatter, and I was on a dance show a few times when in High school, not American Bandstand, one in our area in San Jose.

What is your favorite spring activity? Being outside. Seeing the pretty flowers or watching the birds and squirrels.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (no pandemic), where is it and why? As I travelled all over the world as a military wife plus several cruises with family and friends, I am ready to travel by car in the great state of Missouri and check out locations I didn't know existed.

What do you like to do for fun, interests, hobbies? Bunco, Mystery Book Club. Crossword Puzzles and Jigsaw Puzzles.

What do you want to accomplish this season? Making Planned Exercise more consistent.
