Hi! I'm sorry I missed your post back in August! It's great news that you are healthy and back in the water. That's quite an accomplishment.

I'm glad you've come back to Spark. The swimming for cardio team isn't quite as active as it was before, but hopefully you can find some support and info here if you need it!!

I was a big sparker for a long time and then things happened - cancer specifically. Sometimes life goes off the rails.

I joined the master's swim at the Y way before I really should have. In my defense, the requirements were rather misleading. Something like the ability to swim 100 yards without stopping. The reality was much harder so at first I thought perhaps a lung was going to explode all over the crystal clear blue water but no I did ok. Also cancer perks. No coach is going to kick a cancer patient out of an exercise program. Also I busted my butt all gung ho like coaches love.

Anyway I had a few complications that are under control now so I'm swimming again, but decided to go out on my own this time. I just find that it was very difficult to stick to the rigid schedule, but it was a good experience. I learned a lot but now I need to put together my own swimming workouts.

I'm not sure where I was going with that but I have now made it 11 straight days of logging everything I'm eating even though I do hate doing that. I'm trying to hit my "fighting weight" by October when I'm going on a snorkeling trip.
