I grew up a block from the pool, so I practically lived there. I love lap swimming.

Welcome! You're lucky you had the basics down! When I started, I could only doggy paddle. Boy, was that a steep learning curve. I have an underwater mp3 player too and love listening to podcasts and audio books when I swim. I love it when whatever I'm listening to ends on a cliffhanger, because then I can't wait to get back in the pool!

Hi, my name is Susan and I'm 59 years young. I just started swimming laps for fitness in mid January with my husband. We are both trying to lose some weight and shape up. I never swam before for exercise but am very thankful that a long time ago my mom put me in swimming lessons at the Y and I learned to do the basic strokes. Really love doing this. We purchased a couple of the mp3 players for swimming so that we can listen to music. Really has helped me keep going. We swim for about an hour 3 days a week.
