Thank you Mstires for all you encouragements and suggestions. Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I have been in this rut for the past many months. I lose a couple, gain a couple. Atleast I am not gaining more than 1-2 pounds, but it comes done easily enough.
I have changed my cardio and strength training. I am doing the kettlebell now and have seen good results (not much weight lose, but toned up). I am going to keep at it as I have see results.
My problem starts in 10 days when I go to overseas for 3 months. I have no access to the gym but access to the pool and the sea. I am going to take advantage of these two and also will do jogging/walking intervals and whatever I else I can do. I have a set of resistance band with me and I will use that also.
We will see how I will do. But thank for all your good ideas. Keep up the good work, you are doing wonderful, as do all the other swim team members.

Since the start of my jurney (about year and half ago), I have lost 40 pounds, which I am very proad of. Now to reach my goal, I need to loose another 80-10 pound.
I swim every other day about a mile and do interval cardio 2-3 days aweek plus 2 days strenght training with a trainer. and I eat a very healty, low fat, high protein, low carb diet. Anything else I should do to achive my goal?

Sherzi-Welcome! I start my day swimming with a masters team and agree with you. Its the best way to start the day.

I also have been struggling with getting the last 10-15 lbs. off and just recently increased all of my exercise (swimming, stationary bike, elliptical and strength training) plus I'm really paying close attention to portion size and accurately journaling my food. It has paid off this month. I had gained some weight while on vacation and so far I've lost what I gained 6 more lbs. So my suggestion is see where you can increase your swimming (one more day and more time) or your cardio or strength or a little of each. It's worked for me.

Hi you guys, I did not know there is a swim team out there. Count me in PLEASE. I have been swimming regularly for the past year and half, 3 days a week except in the summers that I swim everyday ( in the sea). I started swimming with our 2 friends at our local university and I was doing maybe 10 laps (500 yards) in 45 minutes (not bad). but now my average is 40 laps (2000 meters) in 45-50 minutes at the highs chool pool. Much better no???? We get up at 5:30 in the morning, rain or shine, snow or not (I live in Wisconsin!!!!). This has become the high light of the day and because we start so early, I am done with my exercise early and have the rest of the day to do whatever needs to be done. The days I don't swim i go to the gym and pump some kettlebell.
So that's my swim story. Oh, and I love to swim with fins, they make me swim faster but do more workout (stronger kicks). and I just bought two new suits!!! emoticon emoticon

Hi! My name is Carrie, and I'm a 40 yr old married mother of 4. I just started swimming last week at the suggestion of the hubby. He has a degree in exercise and thought I would tolerate swimming well. I have a as yet undiagnosised condition, and can't handle playing tennis anymore. To my surprise, I LOVED it! Now I am hooked. Looking forward to gettting to konw the group! emoticon
