Good morning all

so I am finally getting caught up after an amazing weekend. I had such a great time and was totally relaxed. We walked a lot so I managed to keep my steps up and we danced. I was very sad to have to come home and then was so busy at work yesterday that I just didn't get to all my emails.

We are in the midst of another heat wave but tomorrow it is supposed to cool down to 23C. However yesterday and today were/are going to be in the low 30's. Yesterday got to 34C and today we are supposed to be at 32C.

It's been awhile since I've been on SP, but need an extra push for me to continue on this journey. I had reached my lowest weight (75 lbs gone) sometime in May, but with many of life's stressors setting in, I ended up gaining 15 pounds back. Figure this challenge will get me focused again (especially before the holidays) and back on track.

I'm registered for the Fall BLC challenge and looking forward to it. It's exciting to think of the improvements in our health we will reap! Definitely less fat, fewer pounds, more energy and more consistency in our habits. We can do this!

I'm Sheila from Texas (just moved here) and I now need to lose 23 pounds. I'm planning to walk it off but add some other strength training to enhance the process. And anything else the challenge gives us to do! I'm looking forward to meeting others ready to do this!

It has been a while since I was on a BLC Round. I honestly am not sure if 2015 or 2016 I was last on a team. Now, that I am done with and have settled into my career for the most part. I am ready to be held accountable for exercise and nutrition. I know I can't out exercise bad food plan.

hi everyone I am so looking forward to the next challenge. I am at work having lunch and have another 30 mins so I thought I would stop and chat. emoticon

SPECIFIC: Drink 6-8 glasses of water, walk every morning, journal food intake.
MEASURABLE: journal water and food intake every day. Write down fitness minutes after every walk.
ATTAINABLE: I will gradually start walking faster and further each week. I can slowly manage my food and water intake.
RELEVENT: To improve my life style by making conscious decisions to change to a healthier me.

Hello to everyone. I am back. I was gone a long time from Spark People---I cannot even recall when I left. I see some photographs posted from 2012, however.

I have a change of name, which is created in a sense of fun.

My husband had a terrible stroke and I have become a caretaker---he is not impaired intellectually, but oh, his little body! I have spent time helping him with daily activities and with work. In the meantime much of the weight I lost crept back up. I have not done binge eating, which is good: but it's incremental daily eating and lack of exercise that does it.

I was a Shamrock Sheriff a long time ago and that was an incredible experience. I lost about 18 or 19 pounds in that 10 weeks and was highly motivated all along. I would like to get back to that crystal clarity I then had: food is not a tranquilliser; food is not good medicine; exercise became addictive.

I do think I see some familiar faces here and am eager to get back to the rhythm of the BLC week.

BLC35 starts on Sept. 6th. We usually "open the doors" to the team about a week before so members have time to settle in and get to know their teammates. You want to register as soon as possible in order to, hopefully, get your first choice team as some teams are filling fast.

Hi everyone,

My name is Michelle. I am a newbie to SparkPeople. I have been in the hospital twice in the last 30 days for pancreatitis and gastritis. I also have diabetes, gastroparesis, high cholesterol (causes pancreatitis), and IBS. A nutritionist compared the diets for each. I can literally have a glass of water with my plate of ice. So I am trying to find a middle road that will work. This challenge and the timing will work out perfect. It gives me time to find my way around SparkPeople and get some healthy lifestyle changes started.

I look forward to getting to know everyone, make friends and help each other on this journey to fitness. emoticon

Good morning all. I am a "new" old member, I was around when they had the basic colors. I see things and leadership has changed over the years. I'm looking forward to being challenged when the new round starts. I was a Purple Pound Puncher if any of you remember them, then the name changed to the Wisteria Wolves, then I moved to the Golden Phoenix. That was years ago. I've been off Spark but I now have 40-50 pounds left to lose since I have a vertical gastric sleeve almost two years ago. Looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting challenged.

Everyone please have a safe end to your weekend.

As I sit here at work for a couple hours I found myself here. I'm so anxious for this to start. I haven't been this committed for awhile. I'm back at Curves pounding the inches into muscles.

I know it's working because 2wks ago we had 6yds of gravel delivered for the backyard. I help rake/spread and sort. Then headed of to be an official at local Roller Derby Championships.
Yesterday DH and I got the rest of the patio area leveled. I needed to move some concrete blocks. DH started to lift the wheelbarrow and I stopped him. Kindly reminded him I''ve been working out and getting stronger. Dang it was heavy I had it to within a foot of where I wanted them. AND then I lost it and tipped them all on the ground. Oh well next time. Couldn't stop smiling.

Today after work, grocery shopping, and then home to plant several dozen plants I bought yesterday.


Krzykat3- I love your quote. I went back to therapy a month ago and that has been part of my focus.

Chelsea- I've been do Keto since March and like you as long as I stay on track I lose. I'm a slow loser. But I love the inches disappearing.

Angela- After the yard is in order de-cluttering my huge closet of clothes, and going through totes.

well it was hot here today and I love it. And we are supposed to be hotter tomorrow. Summer is finally here. I did a lot of de-cluttering today getting rid of 3 big boxes of stuff. Of course not all of it was given/thrown away but the keepers were put away properly

stay safe Nancy. never had Tornadoes where I live but I have seen them on the news. cleaning my daughters bedroom today and going shopping so its a busy day. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon, I didn't know we were suppose to put this pledge either. So here goes:

Today, Wednesday, May 27th, I pledge to get back on track with my nutrition and fitness and see a lower number on the scale three weeks from today on Wednesday, June 7th.

Tonight my coworkers are throwing a going away party for me at one of my favorite restaurants. Looking forward to it. Have 7 more shifts to work, I work 12 hour shifts. emoticon

We are off to Des Moines today for my husband's niece's hs graduation. Yesterday was a great day. I had my review and a raise, my daughter got a teaching job and I found my shoes for the wedding. One week from today!

Good Morning All -

I did get that wedding box finished and now begin the process of varnishing it, should take about 4 to 6 coats to get it just right. Today I drive my mother to her hair appointment and hubby is doing her yard work. Will get back to the projects after. Had my morning walk once more and it felt great.

hello everyone
went to the gym and did a challenge and it took 75 mins to do
challenge is 1k walk/run 1k bike. 1k rower
800m walk/run 800m bike 800 m rower and you keep dropping by 200m

its a great cardio workout, I'm doing this once a week to build my fitness up and you don't get bored of the same equipment this way. I'm shopping tomorrow with my daughter number 3, quality time as I have to share myself around. have a great weekend everyone.

Lots going on here! Gracie, a notebook is a good idea. I usually keep my posts short.

We are at the lake. Daughter and boyfriend are coming tomorrow. Nephew and girlfriend are coming Sunday.

Bad news is the weather is cold and wet. We probably won't even get to go boating. We may end up at the movies!

Quick post just to add a bit to the discussion. I've been a Captain on BLC before and am currently a co-captain of the Navy Ninjas and the other half of BLC ADMIN. As far as posting goes, I do try to post everyday, but I also find it difficult to keep up with the posts and to respond to all. I know some people are great at writing long posts but I'm not one of them. So do whatever is comfortable for you.

For BLC34, I've purchased a notebook and, as I read posts, I'm going to jot down notes on things I might want to respond to. That way, if I don't have time to respond right away, I've got something to refer to when I go back to the posts. I know some people keep two windows open but for some reason I find that difficult.

Anyway, just my two cents. emoticon

Today's mountain is at my mom's house. The kids and I are going to help her get the garden beds prepared and hopefully some of it planted. No small feat considering all together the beds add up to an acre of land. Lots of work to be done.

~Coeuraimant - It seems like every time I turn around they're bigger, older, more independent. Time does go quick with little ones.

Morning Everyone -

Got out for my morning walk, I find if I don't get out first thing I don't seem to get out for a walk later in the day. It is my perfect start to the morning so I wonder why I seem to talk myself out of it so often. emoticon

Hubby went off to the church to clean today and I have decided not to join him today but stay home and get working on daughter's wedding chest. It is going to need 4 to 6 coats of vanish once I finish burning it and that is what is going to take the time. I have a TBD pile of assorted projects to complete and I just have to get to it. Volunteering at the church has been a huge blessing but I have to make time for the other things that need finishing too.

VIRTUAL_ADEPT - the time with the kids zoom by so fast. My oldest is turning 37 and my youngest is 34 now. I have no clue how that happened so quick emoticon

Debbie - that is a great bunch to have and such a wonderful age range.

evening all future BLC 34ers!

welcome to all the new members (AKA newbies), glad you are here. I did 32, skipped 34 but started BLC in first ten rounds or so and have been in and out depending on my state of life, mind, body or soul. I am a yo yo weight person, lowest was 125 when I was 20 something and 248 at 60 something. currently at 228 this morning (better go log that ).

I still recall my first day in the Purple Pound Punchers. Many of the team were returning from the previous round and had connections. with in the first two weeks, I found teammates who greeted me and made sure to comment on my comments and pretty soon, I was almost caught up with who was who and chatting away nicely with 20 new SP friends.

Cannot wait to start this round, I am "climbing a new mountain" myself and will be blogging it shortly.. hugs to all spark people for more points!! :)

Strive to be the best you. Remember those who are in your life for a minute, an hour or forever all need your attention and smile.

Today is my youngest Grandchild's 1st birthday. I have 13 total. Most people say WHAT??? I have 3 children which each have blended families. The oldest will turn 19 in June and the youngest.
I started this path to a healthy body many many moons ago. The latest was over 3yrs ago when I lost over 70lbs but thanks to stress from work, medication, and being forced to leave my job I gained almost all of it back.
So in Jan I got back on track. I love BLC because of accountability more than anything else.
Here's hoping I make a team this round.

My kids still have until the end of June before school is over. I can't wait for summer vacation to start LOL. My youngest, a girl, will be going into 1st grade and my middle (boy) will be going into 4th grade, and my oldest, the other boy, will be a Senior in HS...OMG!

Manasa and Alicia...I have been blessed to meet 7 people on Spark! Gracie (aka GRACIEC) and I have meet several times! It is so true about when you do meet its like you've known each other forever! She lives the 'closest' in NM and the farthest person was ILOVEROSES she and her husband live in Australia. Many Sparkers got meet Ania Abe husband when they were traveling the US! Spark provide many opportunities including life long friendships!

Manasa-I found out from Cheryl (aka CHERYLN) that she was a hop, skip, and a jump from me when she was here last winter visiting relatives! If she returns to AZ we will get together!

Good Morning All -

JAM2DREW - My youngest Kelinda is getting married August 19th. This challenge will be complete by then so I am hoping that I shall be a bit smaller for the family pictures emoticon Well, actually not hoping but determined.

I may not be at goal by then but I sure can be well on my way.

Raining today but dressed for it and did a short walk. Not as far as I could have gone but still a good effort.

SAASHA17 - have met one Spark Friend and it was great and felt like we had been friends for ages and have chatted on the phone with two other friends and same thing. Spark Friends can become really great friends. emoticon

It is great to be meeting some other BLCers ahead of time.

Good evening, I am also anxious for the challenge to start. I will be moving from Nebraska to California on June 12. We will take 3 days to drive. Alicia, when does your daughter get married? Mine gets married June 3rd. The last 2 weekends I have had my kids' graduations so things have been crazy.

I'm one of those people who gets overwhelmed by the "chattiness" and I freeze. I feel like a dork just jumping into conversations with people I don't really know. I'm trying to get better about it, so apologies if I seem really awkward.

I'm really hoping this BLC kicks me into higher gear. I've done challenges on the site, but button clicking isn't forcing my butt off the couch, ya know? I've been holding my own against my "inner slug" but I really want to finally get over evening having an inner slug at all.

It's so great to start reading and finding new friends here. I love the story of the mountain. I, too have a wedding this summer. My youngest daughter is getting married and I am turning 60 in October and want this to be the birthday that I am done with shedding pounds. From that day on I want to be maintaining and I think this challenge is really going to help that goal. I have been stumbling lately as I blogged in my blog - Let's be rid of it.

hi everyone can't wait to start BLC34 its going to be great. I love the poem about climbing the mountain. we all have our own personal mountain to climb. Played Teepees and Indians today with kindergarten and then went to gym. I met a new lady there and she was nice. it looked like it was her first time and then I remembered how I first felt when I started the gym, so I gave her some advice on the equipment and showed her how to change the weights.

yes I second what TEE said..if u feel overwhelmed by the "chattiness", reach out to 1-2 people and keep in touch with them, and if u feel comfprtable, add more..but ifu dont want any of it..just keep posting what u did and what u r feeling like and see how the team responds....I always tell this to the newbies...I usually open two tabs of the conversation and add names and responses, if I have the time...frankly its okay..no one gets offended if u "ignore" their posts...hehehe
