Good Morning. My name is Brenda. I'm from Wisconsin. New to the team. I've been on SparkPeople about two years now. Most of my exercise comes from walking. I enjoy the months when I can walk outside. Hello everyone. My name is Susan and I have been on Spark People since 2013. I have lost about 20 pounds in that time but have recently noticed my weight creeping upwards AGAIN since I've slipped back into unhealthy eating habits. I never did have a huge amount of weight to lose but need to focus on my not so healthy relationship with food. Sweets . . . once I start I can't seem to stop. Ate a huge burger and fries at a "greasy spoon" type of diner with daughter because "It's our summer tradition." I did not want it nor did I enjoy eating it. Daughter often brings home sweet treats from the store she works at; my will power goes out the door.
Walking is my primary source of exercise. I deliver flyers once a week and this forces me to be active, regardless of the weather. Winters are long and hard in Manitoba, CANADA. I do not like the cold. Although I want to strength train and do yoga at home I have yet to find the motivation to get started.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

I am fairly new to SP (only about a month) and really new to this team...I started SP when I was diagnosed with diabetes. That alerted me to the fact that it was time for me to change my lifestyle and becoming a better, healthier me. I started walking because being a secretary, I barely move at work and was so tired that I didn't do much at home either. Now i am obsessed with walking LOL. I go on walks every chance that I get..

Hi! I am living in UT, married for 29 years, mother of a daughter and a son, Grandmother to 4 boys. My goal is to lose another 48 pounds and would like it done before my birthday of June 2016 (very doable if I put forth true effort). So far this journey, this time is going well, I think it is b/c I am not beating myself over not being perfect, if I veer I get back on track and move forward! ;0)

I'm Agnes. Married with 2 kids and 4 cats :) I mostly walk on my treadmill, outside or do Leslie Sansone videos. Need to add more strength training to my workouts. I'm 4 lbs away from my original goal but I'm hoping to lose 9 more pounds by the end of the year. However, things are going very slow. I guess it's true what they say that those last 10 lbs are the hardest.

I am currently doing the Fall 5% challenge and the BLC.I lost 13 pounds during the Summer 5% challenge and hope to do it again this Fall!
I do all of my walking outside and have my husband as a walking buddy.He's lost close to 20 lbs since we started our walks!

Hello Team!

My name is "Bobbi" and I am 59yrs. old and married to my hubby of 21 years,
we have no kids and Spark-People is my family which I have been off and on,
though the years and when I was told that I was a diabetic by the doctor @ the,
hospital and my number was #815 and was given metformin 2x a day and then,
as I ate healthy and watched myself with everything my numbers finally came,
down with exercises and my walking and now my numbers are like 100's and am,
happy with my #'s and so is my doctor and so anyway this is who I am.

Hi all! emoticon

I'm Sherri, age 52, married for 10 years. I have two "kids" ages 19 and 21 (they will always be kids!) from a previous marriage. I started back on Spark (3rd time) in March of this year. I started back on Spark after I had an epiphany when I got on my scale and looked at those numbers! There was NO WAY I weighed that much! It was then that I decided to make some changes in my life. I eat healthy and exercise on a regular basis. My lifestyle changes have paid off and I just hit a milestone of 50 pounds (25 more to go!). For some reason, this time on Spark feels different. I actually believe that I can reach my goal of 75 pounds by Christmas.

I do all of my walking mainly on my treadmill. I usually walk about 45 minutes (watching Netflix) and do exercising and stretching after. I use Fitbit to track my steps. Back in June I had to slow up my pace because of ankle (inner bone) damage. I have to wear orthotic insoles and I'm currently waiting for custom ones to come in.

Hello and good morning everyone!
My name is Cathy. Thank you for the invite!

I live in New Jersey. I joined Sparkpeople in 2012. Dropped out because I got lazy but started up again in May I think? I bought a new exercise machine and an activity tracker and decided to loose the weight I have put back on.

I am married for 4 years now to the love of my life emoticon He is so supportive. I have six children. My husband Al; he is the oldest and biggest one! LOL
My daughter Danielle; she is 27. She is married to Mike and has two girls, Brianna & Mikaela and is pregnant with my second grandson Matthew due to arrive September 28. She also lives in Toms River just around the corner from me. She also has two of my granddogs. Maddie and Teddy.
Samantha is 23. She lives a t home with me. She is engaged to Teddy who is the same age living with us. They have my FIRST grandson TJ. He is 6 months old and adorable! They also have my third granddog Jax. He is 1 and I still question how he has made it this far without me killing him. He is so lucky he is cute and melts my heart with his expresions because he is so bad!

My "oldest" son JT is 18. He lives at home. He is starting College September 8. He has matured so much in the past few months. He amazes me each time I talk to him. He seems to be coming into his own.

My "baby" Joseph is 2 minutes younger than his older brother. That makes him 18 too! He is in Greensboro North Carolina, in college. I miss him a lot. He left two weeks ago and I am still getting use to not talking to him at night in my room.

Then there is my Boo. His full name is Booker. He is my 9 year old Rhodesian Ridge Back. He is my buddy. I always took him walking with me but he had two seizures and now I worry he will get to hot and have another one. I took him out in June and I think he got too over heated because he had a small one when we got home. So I haven't been walking at night like I did last year. It totally messed me exercise routine up. So I am now trying to find new ways to exercise.

I was recently diagnosed with Virgo. It is a new experience for me. Being off balance most of the time is annoying. If I bend over or walk down steps for too long looking down I get dizzy. I have a hard time doing bleachers now but am trying to find my way.

My favourite exercise is walking - all kinds: slow walk with friends and family, brisk walk, WATP DVDs...

Just got back from 3.4 mile hike. Age 71 here. I weighed 233 about 7 years ago, and with COPD was in bad shape. I have been holding around 163-167 last 5 years, and doing very well. emoticon

I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids - a freshman in high school, a 7th grader, and a kindergartner. emoticon They keep me busy! And wear me out! And make me laugh!

I have a ways to go weight wise. Two years ago I joined a gym and did lose about 50 lbs. Recently had to quit personal training due to budget, but kept my gym basic membership. Unfortunately, without the accountability I just quit going this summer and gained back 25 lbs. emoticon

I'm starting back now that the kids are back in school, all of them emoticon and am also trying to walk as well. I have an ankle/foot issue though that makes walking/running a bit of a problem. So my main way of exercising is weight lifting and biking.

Anyway, looking forward to being part of things here! emoticon

Hi All....My name is Wendi and I'm not sure if I'm a member of this team or not. My DH was diagnosed with stage 4 throat and neck cancer in June, so I've definitely been a back slider. I need to start walking with purpose again. I do seem to get a lot of steps some days, other's not so much. I am hoping to regain my resolve. Perhaps getting "re-started" here will help.

My name is Carol, I live in St. Petersburg,Florida, married with no children. My 60th birthday is just over a year away and have a weight goal to reach by then.

I love to work out/walk at home, it gets extremely hot here in Florida. I will walk outside when it gets a bit cooler. My other loves are sailing, cruising with my husband, coin collecting, music, and Ancestry.com.

I belong to two women's sailing groups and we sail/race once of twice a week. We've been off this summer, but start up again in about two weeks. I can' wait!!!

My name is Darlene but like to be called Dar. I live in Tacoma,WA but use to live in Shelton,WA after my late husband passed away 10 yrs ago this past May. I stayed in Shelton for couple of yrs and moved up to Tacoma. I have 2 married daughters one is living in Spokane with her husband and the other is living with me along with her husband and their youngest daughter. The older daughter is living in Shelton with some friends and working at Wal-Mart. She graduated last year and decided to stay there. I'm living in a one bedroom apt and it's crowded here but at least it's fun having them here cause they can cook for me if I don't want to cook for myself. I do cook but when your broke then they cook.
