I havenīt thought of unfollowing friends on FB
Yes doing the daily tasks first is good. Sometimes a daily task is paying bills on the computer though
I have put away the computer some days to get out of the bad habit using too much time on it
I did not even miss it so this is a good way
Other days I just put it away during the daytime - and wait to the end of the day to look at it

I have thought about whether it is possible to have a kind of dynamo that is run by a bicycle or so where it is only possible to use the computer when a person has made enough exercise

WHITEANGEL4, that's a good idea!! emoticon
In my case, I get up too early to get started with chores, so I allow myself a certain length of time on the computer before I get started with other things.

This may not be much help. I'm at work from 5:30 am to 4:30 pm every week day, so I have to limit my online time. Yes, I have a computer at work, but I can't be online during office hours, except for work related sites.
By the time I get home at night, I'm exhausted so I have to limit my time so that I can get to bed early enough to start over the next day. But I still manage to blog every day.
I've had to exit from one daily website also, or take breaks from it at the very least. And I have limited my time on SP. It is hard to try to catch up with everyone who you feel are your friends and who you don't want to "drive" away by being quiet to. It's hard to make these decisions, but in order to save your mind, you need to make it. Good luck. emoticon

Perhaps put a timer on to so many minutes or an hour.

I too limit myself to a few hours a day on pc time.

I'm doing a 21 days no binge streak. FOR ME, it's been TREMENDOUSLY helpful to be accountable to other people and to compete against myself. Please join us if you think it'll work for you too: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_mes

Love the stepping idea!

I try to limit sites to just SP & FB. On FB I "unfollowed" almost all of my friends (except my 2 sisters, 2 nieces, 1 nephew & 2 best friends). Every once in a while, on the weekend, I just go look at some of the other pages & comment. So much easier to get off the site when there are only a few, meaningful posts to read & comment on!

Thank you -
X Your advice about reducing internet sites may be good
X A timer by the computer with limited time plus other goals with minimum time scheduled
X Doing exercise at the same time as using the computer - I have thought about setting a shelf up for my pc high enough for doing stepping at the same time

I find it important with different options

I have had the same problem. I've dropped one site that was sending me daily mailings and then there was a lot of chatter from other participants, so I was responding to things all day. I've also started setting limits on how long I can spend at the computer at a time.

Best wishes to you!

I have gotten a very bad habit of spending too much time by the computer..
Debatting and writting to people and making advertisement for ceramic events

It spoils my day and plans - if I had some definite ones
Hmm
What do you do to avoid this?
