Morning - couldn't get on here yesterday but I am very happy to report a nice loss this week (over a kilo woohoo)

other than that not much news other than this is the first weekend I didn't fall off the wagon and eat any processed carbs - which is my main goal keep away from the processed carbs and up the veges and protein :-)

5.5 on my machine is supposedly kms/hr and I can't walk it :-) I'm doing 4.6 and pretty happy with that as its up from 4 when I bought the treadmill but I will work on building up over the next few months :-)

emoticon 5.5 is kilometers per hour... not that quick - you are up to 5 k.p.h. with 1k in 12 minutes.. Did you think I meant miles per hour?

Good advice The taste came along with a swelling on the neck, so I have been concentrating more on that to find out if it was nasty or not. Had a Scan and they say it is ok and there is nothing there. Does not explain the pain taste and phlegm tho. It is frustrating I feel there is something going on but they say no, it makes me feel like a hypochondriac and so I ignore it until I see or feel it again.

Use mouth wash the ENT guy said to use a non alcohol base one so I will try that when we use up this lot.
I will ask around for a naturopath in the area..

It's not bossy emoticon it's caring. Thats what I tell my Hubby emoticon

I'm in Tauranga - wow 5.5 is quick - I tried it for about half a second lol - you're a machine

my levels correspond with kms per hour :-) and I have an incline function but only have it at a low level or flat

Is this a new thing the taste in the mouth ? did you try googling? I have had a lot of ups and downs and trial and error with medical professionals and can honestly say DON'T GIVE UP - ENT may not of been any help try something else, naturopath consultation, gp, dentist ... not sure really but yucky taste in mouth or bad breath can be signs of heaps of things ... my hubby has bad breath issues which he is paranoid about so lives on mouth wash and mints but its all from his high metabolism - pretty much if he eats regularly no bad breath .. unfortunately he is really bad at regular eating .... he soooo needs a bossy wife lol

Hi I do not know where the email liist is,, have never used it I think or it is just a senior moment. emoticon
My treasmill has levels but they ar of incline,, so it is like walking uphill.
It starts at a slow speed and I adjust it to where is best for me..
I walk at about 5.5kmph and can go a bit faster now and then.

ENT was a waste of time really. They can find nothing wrong which is good but frustrating as I still feel lousy. I have a really foul taste in my mouth, and my body feels ill all the tiime.

Dont know what the nexxt step is....

Where in NZ are you?? I am in Nelson...

Hi all, Good morning Janette, I have friended you on SP and when I can remember how to send a private email I will send you details to add me to your email list or fb :-) we can do this together - so much easier than alone :-)

Due to size and health I also do my treadmill in 15min blocks :-) I am up from level 4 (15min per km) to level 4.6 (13min km) so am happy with that for now and hope to be up to the next level by end of year - I am basing those levels on what is here in the exercise planner thingee and I can't remember but I think the next level is 5 (12min km)

How did the ENT appointment go yesterday?

I have a good support group in another site - as I have experimented with soooo many diets :-) but like this site better for the fact it is a one stop shop and I can usually find some people from NZ

I have a treadmill, they are great for days when you just cannot get moving. I make myself do 15 minutes and then do it again later in the day. With my fitbit I can top up the number of steps I do at night and meet my goals.

That of course is as long as my back cooperates. these last 2 weekks it has been playing up like mad and I have not been able to walk around the house much.

Still been going to an Osteopath and it is much better. I hope to go swimming tomorrow she recommends swimming instead of walking at the moment.

I am not much good asking for support, tho it is essential. maybe we could be sparkfriends and work on it together??

I tried a couple of groups but am not a really social animal so found keeping in contact witj so many others too hard and so I dropped out.

Hi Janette - yay a friendly face :-) well at least we both got back on track before we undid all our hard work eh

I bought a treadmill two weeks ago so am doing half an hour morning and night but not much else at this stage - its important I take it slow and steady at the moment because I can't afford to end up unemployed and I'm on a final warning one more sick day before next may and I'm outta here :-(

We will do this together - I knew I needed to get back on here I found the support essential last time round and will need it again :-) all the best with getting to your goal too xx

Welcome back... I too have stumbled and am trying to get back up. I went down to 66kg from 83kg.. and have slowly gained till I am 74.5kg at the moment. Have had back problems this last 2 weeks so walking has stopped am going swimming this week to see if I can do that.

Great news about the meds, always good to cut down on that stuff.

Good luck on your journey.

Well I did really well last year and went from 142kgs to 110.9 but here I am after a crappy time healthwise and med wise and back up to gulp 130kgs - so before I get back to where I started I am back in charge. I could have started to get back in control about 3mths ago and honestly would probably be a lot closer to that 110 as I gained about 10kgs in the last 3mths and 3mths of being good would have lost me more than 10kgs - but I wanted to make sure I was good healthwise as around Easter I tried to get back on track and ended up bed ridden for a month - almost lost my job over it ...

okay so the weight is bad - I know it and you know it but I have a few good things to report I am down from 27 prescription meds a day to 3 - I have discovered some natural aids that work better for me than any of those nasty drugs and without some of the nasty side effects :-) soooooo here I am day one again
