In time you will find that you hardly ever have to add a new food to your favourites. I really LOVE the tracker :-)

Still in my first week, but its great to be able to track my calories without too much fuss. I have to add in alot of items myself, but its still easier than trying to write it all in a book. lol

Spark's ranges are generally pretty reliable unless you're morbidly obese. If you are in that range, you can end up with a way too high range - lower is definitely safer.

If you care to share the range given, and your current weight, we can comment on whether it seems okay or not.

Out of interest what calorie range have they set for you?

A lot depends on our starting weight - a much heavier person needs more calories, and another factor is how much exercise we have put in when we started. The more exercise and the more intense exercise, then more calories are required. Also, it depends on how much you have put you want to loose between now and a certain date!

Welcome to SP - this is a great place :-) You will find that initially it is a bit of a pain re the Nutrition Tracker because we don't get a lot of their stuff and have a lot of different stuff. It is easier to copy of the nutrition labels and safe in our favourites. I suggest that you double-check the figures before you save, tho', because it doesn't take much to upset the applecart!

Just start this journey off slowly, changing only one or two things to start with. Only when your mind/body is used to the changes, add something else to the mix. This is the best way to gradually UNlearn the old habits which brought you here in the first place, as you equally gradually learn the healthier versions :-)

When people make a lot of sudden changes, after a wee while they tend to get bored or feel deprived which in turn can cause them to fall off the wagon.

You will find that if you create a SparkPage you will get tons more support. If you have it open, others will be able to drop by and leave encouraging little messages, and even the occasional goodie. It is a great way to make some really good new friends in the process.

Take care,
Kris
