Tell God your plans and listen to the chuckles.

Listen to your children's plans and get a few chuckles of your own.

Hi!
Lots of salads as well as a FEW cooked veggies, have been quite helpful for me, with only 6-8 ounces of animal protein a day...but I am on a renal diet, not a diabetic diet and it's a real juggling act at times. I just think of the starches and fruits as condiments LOL
Good luck!

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes one mome

Welcome! I think you will find lots of information and inspiration here. Managing diabetes can seem daunting at first, but then you get the general hang of it. I do include healthy fats in my diet - so I don't follow a "no fat" approach. Restricting the carbs is the most important part for me. Another key is moving. I have never been one for the gym - still am not - I get my exercise by walking.

"This too shall pass."

Hi there, Chrys 37 just newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Been on spark before but left cause I hated the new look of the website. Official reason anyway. back because I need to get my crap together, and I am completely clueless. I been googling alot, but hoping to find a wealth of info from others here on spark. Always open for tips! Specially on how to get my calorie count back up over 1300 a day without a high carb count! Everything i have found says low fat no fat, no sugar, low carbs, strict portions.

Anyway I won't get too much into it, but hi and hello!
