P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!

There’s so much tracking, information, support, and encouragement on SP. SP is a great place!

It's all about taking small steps and building onto them. It helps to create a healthier lifestyle to help keep the weight off. Some of my 1st few steps were measuring my food portions (huge eye opener) and getting 20 minutes of walking 3 times a day. Now I do 30 minutes of exercise everyday no matter what.

Hi emoticon , my Dr. has me on a lower than A.D.A. carbohydrate plan but boy is it working. You can read about this in lots of places but my triglisarides went down 700 points in three months and I have been taken off 5 units of insulin and B. S. are 80 to 110 most mornings. Adding repeat exercise at least three days a week and plenty of water throughout the day has also added up to a healthier lifestyle and a healthier me!! i hope you find what works for you! emoticon emoticon

hey there welcome to spark people this is the place to get it done and keep it done
i love that i waited until the numbers got high enough that is pretty common but now you are here..ask the questions and find out everything you ever wanted to know the team is large and somebody always has the answers and the motivation and support are always right here at hand if we don't have the answer it won't take us long to find out for sure and post everyday post because it encourages you to keep yourself in line with the stuff you need to do and let me tell you it's possible to stay in control and still be a real person at large
DRINK THE WATER..IT'S IMPORTANT
and if you need to lose those pounds this is definitely the place to get through that and keep it done
but it's a wonderful place to keep track of the food daily and WEIGH AND MEASURE THOSE PORTIONS and get smaller plates because those portions look really small on the dinner sized plates
me diabetic for over 20 years and now with kidney disease which alters things a little but still have control most days
and me 378-105 and maintaining right here on this site for over two years been here for four
so again welcome for sure

I have just joined this group. I have been type 2 for years but my numbers have finally got high enough that I have to do something about it.
