Hey team! I know I'm a little late, I always use the mobile app so I didn't even realize that the spark people website had a community for member interaction!
I downloaded the app to help keep me accountable for my diet. I've always tried to be healthy, both with my diet and exercise routine, but this year I tore my rotator cuff and got married, so between wedding planning and my injury I didn't spend much time in the gym from February through August, and with my focus off of my health, my eating habits suffered too. I gained about 15 lbs of fat and lost about 10 lbs of muscle.
Since then I've recommitted myself to my health, and I've lost 15 lbs of fat and regained (almost) 5 lbs of muscle. My wife and I became Beachbody coaches after my cousin recommended doing the "21 day fix" program to get us back into healthy habits, which we both had a lot of success with (she lost 8 lbs in the first 21 days, and 7 more lbs in 6-7 weeks since then doing the regular shakeology program. I lost 10 in the first 21 days and about 5 since then). We've also started exercising together, which we used to do before I got hurt.
The app has been a big help for tracking my diet/exercise, rather than writing everything down in notebooks as I have in the past.
I feel much healthier and more energetic now that I'm back to a healthier lifestyle, but I still have a lot of work to do to reach my goals. I'm looking forward to getting to know other team members! If anyone wants to talk to me about anything related to diet and exercise, please feel free to reply to my post or message/email me! I'd love to help the rest of the team reach their goals, and to have help and support reaching mine!
P.S. sorry this post is so long!
