That's awesome that you're a new mom! emoticon It can be so great, hard, trying and exhausting to say the least!! emoticon I'm so proud of you for coming back after a hiatus. That can be hard to do, but that means you truly want to commit to this process and be healthier for your daughter. She's probably at a great weight to actually play with her and use her as a weight during your workouts. That way you can work out together of course carefully LOL! No need to drop the little one. Wishing you the best on your journey and feel free to chat anytime!!! emoticon

Well this is the place to be then!! I am still new here, but I have found myself actually being able to learn things here about myself, food and exercise that I never got when I was with Weight Watchers and it's free. There's much more support, ideas, shoulders to lean on and just overall pick me ups when you need it. You have made a great choice to join SparkPeople. Just keep posting throughout the groups that you can join and there will be people coming out of the woodwork to help you out in getting control of your weight and eating habits. emoticon

Hello! I'm Holly. I've got to get a handle on my eating and healthy habits. Any help you can offer would be an enormous support to me. I've not been able to successfully get a handle myself, and am really reaching out now. And of course, let me know if I can be of any support to you! Looking forward to getting to know you all! emoticon

My name is Liz, this is a second go around for SparkPeople for me. I just went for my annual check up and was given the news that I might be diabetic. I have to do more testing to see for sure, but it has sparked a new motivation for me to really focus on my health and weight. I am 29, a RN case manager for a pediatric home health agency and I absolutely love my job. emoticon emoticon

I too have tried Weight Watchers, but it just got too expensive. I'm glad my friend got me here because even though I've only been here for a little less than a week, it has been great! I had a really rough day yesterday, made a post and people were coming out of the wood work to help me out. I felt more supported here then I have in the past at Weight Watchers. I think you'll really like it and I wish you the best of luck! If you ever need to chat feel free to contact me! emoticon

Hey, I'm Maura and am completely new here. Very excited though! I've tried weight watchers, but couldn't afford to continue, so this site sounds perfect :) I'm sure I will have lots of support and hope to be able to give back by offering support to others. Thanks for having me!

Hello, I am Idonea. I, also, have been on sparkpeople before. The past year and a half has been quite turbulent for me, mostly because my sister had a major medical issue and I have been helping my mother care for her at home. I am stressed at home, stressed at work, and barely have 5 minutes to myself on any given day. I am hoping that by rejoining SP that I will find the tools and motivation to persevere with my life and get myself into a healthy place (mentally and physically). I apologize in advance if my posts or blogs are a big downer for anyone, but most times the only outlet I have is in writing. I do keep a paper journal, so there is a lot of stuff I am getting out that way. However, I thought that once in awhile someone will see a posting by me and be able to give advice or let me know that things aren't so bleak.

Hi all,

My name is Laura and I am from the UK. Like others, I have joined the site before and had positive results however lost motivation and gained all that I lost. I have started again and just got to the end of my first week. I am weighing in tomorrow so fingers crossed. I am quietly confident as this time I feel...different. I have just turned 30 and really want to make changes for the rest of my life not just for a short time.

I hope everyone reaches all of their goals,

Laura xxx

Hey everyone,

Wow, sounds like we are all pretty much in the same boat. I joined in 2011 I think and lasted about a month. Wiped out all my previous junk to start again.

I just turned 49 and with 50 around the corner, I took a good long look at the last half of my life. Not too bad, but I can do better. I do NOT want to be this size on my 50th birthday. My goal is 50 by 50 or to be a size 10 (which used to mean I weighed 145-150 lbs). I want to wear this beautiful red dress on my birthday.

My biggest discouragement is my big, flabby belly from my last c-section pregnancy. Will it ever go away?

Taking VERY small baby steps. Getting up earlier and getting eating under control first. I'm not pressuring myself to exercise for at least another week. I fail when I try to do it all at once!!

Blessings to you all and I pray you reach the best you!!! :-)

Annie

I CAN get through the next 5 minutes!

Hello Team!

I'm Shannon. I'm brand new to SP and I'm hoping that this site can help me with a lifelong journey to lose weight. This roller coaster ride has been exhausting. I have two wonderful boys 6 and 18 months and I want to be the mom they deserve. I want to be able to keep up with them. I'm obese and need to lose approximately 100lbs. It seems like such a huge amount of weight that I'm overwhelmed by all the work I need to do. Changing eating habits, activity and lifestyle. I'm just hoping that this site will help me when my motivation is low and I need support to keep it going!

Let's do it! Go team!

Hello! emoticon
My name is Nicole. Like so many I have been here before. I just started this account. I really let myself go since I was here last.

I've never really done the community side, but I've read that it can be very helpful. I don't really have a whole lot of support. Of course my husband is my biggest support, but nobody else really cares one way or the other if I drop this weight.

I don't really have to much trouble eating healthy. I just really hate exercise. And it's not just that, most of my favorite activities involve being sedentary. I love reading anything, but mostly sci-fi and comics. My husband and I both enjoy playing RPG video games. And I love me some good TV and Movies.

I just really need to become active.

Ok. I shared a little more than I meant, but it is an introduction.
Hopefully others can relate and we can help to push each other forward.

Hi, My name is Kelley and I am 40 yrs old and the mother of a 5 month old. A friend of mine from work told me about Sparkpeople and I thought I would give it a shot. She recommends it since it helped her a few years back put what she was eating and why she ate the way she did into prospective. With all the ups and downs of the few last years I piled on 80 lbs. Looking to regain the energy needed in raising an infant and also to later be a role model to her on the importance of good food and exercise and what effect it has on your body and life.

Hi Team,

I'm Eliza. I joined a few days ago, but haven't gotten around to introducing myself until now. I'm a 47 year old newly married empty-nester, and I'm ready to start taking better care of myself!

I keep pretty active teaching dance classes, but eat way too much when I get stressed. I need to lose the 25-35 pounds I've packed on over the past few years, and I think SparkPeople is just the place to help keep me on track.

Good luck to everyone. I've really enjoyed hearing other members' stories. It makes this process much less lonely.

Good evening! My name is Jean, and this is my 2nd time joining Spark! I joined a few years ago and lost some weight but then life got crazy and I got too busy for this!
We just recently moved to a new town, and life is finally back at a manageable pace! I'm a stay at home mom, and I now have both my boys in school all day! So I finally have some great time to plan healthy meals, exercise and form some good healthy habits! I've got at least 40 lbs to lose, but figure I'll re-evaluate once I reach that goal!

hi my name is Maureen and I am having trouble with depression right now and no motivation. My dad died, stuck in a rocky relationship and no self esteem. I eat for comfort and have diabetes 2 and there never seems to be anyway out of this life of nothing ever going right! Dad left bills and I have little to pay them so my daughter and I try the best we can (daughter has a disability developmentally disabled but is my sunshine in my life. I have and old boyfriend who lives with us and is nothing but a sponge! So I have slept in the other room for some years while he eats our food and is pretty much a selfish guy and never finishes anything! So now I need to focus on me which is hard to do since I have always taken care of everybody else it seems like. So I am here but I am a slacker sometimes especially if something emotional comes up! So I am looking to you guys for motivation and support so I can change my life! Hopefully I stay with this! I am not telling anyone especially him because he will get competitive with me on a diet. He was horrible when I was on Jenny Craig for a month! He weigh himself everyday and he would go through all the food to make salads exc and we didn't have any diet food left for us to eat so I have to do this quietly! Financially I need his rent money but he sure takes it to excess!
136 LBS is a long way to go! But it's either this or die from diabetes!

I'm hoping for the same thing Dee. I would like to say I need to get my kids eating better, but it's really my entire family. I need to get us all moving more too. We do the same family "activities", watching TV and playing video games while I'm reading a book or sitting on my booty watching. My friend and I have vowed that we are going to start moving more and I bet you can do it too! Find a friend and do it together is my best advice. If I don't feel like doing it she will get me there anyway and vice versa. I'm new here as well, but I think we are going to be able to find some support and ideas as to how to do exactly what we want ... get our families and ourselves healthier!! Good luck!!

Hi! I'm Dee!
So, I was attending an online Wrap Thing party that my cousin was putting on last night. All I could think of was how I wish I could just lose 50 lbs and then use one of those to look toned for a few days. The more and more these girls were talking, the more and more unhealthier I felt. I started really thinking about what my family and I eat, and what we do together. Truthfully, it's sad. We watch tv or play video games. We eat pizza and burgers. No wonder we are all gaining so much weight. I've decided no more. My youngest is starting to eat food now, and I want him to be healthy. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle sometimes. I'm hoping that if I really put in the effort on this site, that I can lose the weight and get my family back on track to being healthy.

Naomi here. I was let go from my job today, due to failure to show. I suffer from all sorts of issues. I am stuck in the weight game @ 179lbs. Years ago I weighed almost 300 lbs. So, I am proud of my accomplishments. Just wanting to move past my CRAPPY state of being and get on with a happier way to live.

Hi everyone, I am yet another person who has been here before but then fell off the wagon.I am a 37 stay at home mum to four children and am obese. 15 years ago I was a healthy weight but since pregnancy my weight has steadily gone up and up. I managed to lose a stone from Jan to Mar this year but then fell off the wagon. Luckily I have kept that stone off but now I am here to finish what I started.

I'm Autumn. I am one of those folks who joined years ago, then let it go dormant. So I think this is a great group and I'm excited.

My biggest concern is that I don't want to spend so much time on SP that I skip my exercise time! I became so wrapped up in the community that I sat around eating chips and reading blog posts (sad trombone music). I tried to do this alone, but it is really difficult! I lost 50 pounds, but then gained 20 back over the winter! (more sad trombone music)

I have 68 pounds to lose (maybe 78, but let's start with 68!) . I'd like to drop 20 by November to get me out of some health-danger zones, then take my time to lose the remaining 48.

High Five team! Let's kick our butts!

Confession! I have actually joined spark people awhile ago but then put my account off for a year. My spark people class from when I joined is pretty obsolete now and no one posts on it. How am I supposed to be community active if there's no one there? So I joined a new group instead. I hope I'm still welcome here.
My name is Cassie and I'm a 28-year-old mom. I love hiking, the YMCA, and am slowly developing new hobbies and interests that I can share with my daughter as she gets older.

I was a SP member some years ago under another user name... but haven't done anything to maintain my health for a long time. So... a completely fresh start now.

Hello everyone! My name is Crissy and I'm 29 years old. I live in Kentucky with my amazing husband, 2 children (9 year old son/2 year old daughter), and our 3 year old mutt whose name is Malia.
I've always been on the chunky side, however, I've had a wakeup call recently that made me realize just how far I've allowed myself to go. I'm now weighing in at my highest weight ever...210 lbs.
I can't wait to meet all of you and watch you all meet your goals!
