Hi Katheryn I have to agree with the walking that's my all time favorite thing to do....I love it and walk 90 minutes 5 days a week...I've even started a walking club in my neighborhood...there are 5 of us and starting Monday there will be 6 some walk 30 some 60 and some the whole 90 minutes but whatever they can they just walk....I also belong to a gym and have just started doing ST training....not my favorite but I know it must be done....Walking does clear the mind...I'm so in love with walking

I really love some of the recipes here on the site. I've been trying to make a new one at least once a week.

It really is amazing how good exercise can make you feel. It takes a while for you to internalize that, but once you do, it makes motivation to get up and do it easier to come by. You remember how good you feel when you move your body, and it makes you want to move it more!

Hello Kathryn!

It looks like you've made some amazing changes to your lifestyle, that really is something to be proud of! Going for a walk sure is a great way to take your mind off things. And a clear mind will allow you to stay focussed so it's a win-win situation! :)

Hi my name is Kathryn I am 56 years old and am from sunny Ca. I have been on Spark People for almost 2 years. I have lost a little over 30 pounds and have about 25 more to go until I reach my personal goal. I have changed a lot about myself in the time I have been on Spark. I exercise almost every day doing 30 minutes to an hour of cardio. I ride my exercise bike 30 minutes and take long walks. I really love my walks and have found that if I am in a bad mood taking a walk changes that. I also do strength training 3 times a week
I have changed the way I eat. I eat more fruit and vegetables and little fat. I have cut my fast food eating down to once or twice a month. This is a real change for me as I was eating it every day. I do my owen cooking now and have changed that by using low cal recipes found here on Spark.
I hope to get to know my team mates as friends offering you support as you need it.
