I am new, but not to Sparkpeople. I have been here for 10 years. Since I am struggling to be healthy I need more support, so am joining more teams.
I have many health issues, but getting better.
I recently went vegan. I have a dear husband and two indoor kitties. I am retired. I do crafting and art.

Hi, I'm Ramona. I'm finally back to a normal life so I'm back to working on myself. I ride a recumbent exercise bike, walk with Leslie Sansone videos, walk - I have a Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker, I just started strength training (I mean seriously, it was way past time to start) and anything else my body will allow. I'm 62 with multiple health issues but I try not to let them stop me or slow me down too much. One step at a time, one day at a time!

Start with small steps and momentum will build. Celebrate moving in the direction of increased happiness now! With a plan and persistence moving towards your goals all things are possible! Adopt an attitude of gratitude. Be thankful for everything you have. It may not be what you want be show you're thankful for it anyway.

I noticed you're team and had to join because it reminded me of a very fit and healthy little old lady aged 86. When I asked her what her secret was to longevity and being so healthy physically and mentally at her age. She told me "Just keep moving" ! Hello everyone,

I joined this group a few days ago...and I was going to post my intro after work. However I don't seem to get on Spark that much after work (except to track my food) so I figured I'd do it now before my days turn to weeks.

I have been part of Spark for almost 6yrs, however I didn't actually become serious about using all the tools available until February 2014. I had a successful 2014 even with a few injuries and side tracking, all in all I did well. 2015 rolled around was doing great, then I tore my calf muscle emoticon I slowly gained back all the weight I had dropped due to poor eating and lack of exercise, add in lots of self pity and I was back in the 90's.

So here I am, I have picked myself up, focusing on staying on track and not pushing my body more then it can handle...what a lovely balance I will discover. I have acknowledged I fell off the wagon, learned from my mistakes and jumped back on. I am taking things slow which is working well for me, the scale is moving down as my spirits move up...and I am happy with that.

HI my name is Teresa and I feel like I do workout a lot but maybe it's not productive. I have a fitbit which encourages me to take 10,000 steps a day and I aim for weights 3 days a week. Plus I do yoga at least 2 days a week. I just got a new job which is impacting my gym time so I decided to check out a yoga/pilates studio to have more options. Please, let me know if you have any experience with yoga and the nutrition that goes along with it. Any suggestions on what and when to eat before a workout would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello my name is Jennifer I will be 30 in December. And have been on spark for almost 2 years now. I have recently been doing less exercise in the last 3 months due to some pain issues, which recently I have just started to get under control so I can do more. I just found out that I love to run, but it is still rather difficult, I'm not very fast and I have to take walk breaks more often than I wish. But I love running, walking, biking, stationary bike right now instead of regular biking, plus I found I love yoga.

This team seems fun, and keeps you going. So I thought I would try it.

Here's the newbie!

My latest interest is in Yoga- I signed up for 4 days per week and can't wait to get started. I look forward to it because I have no idea what to expect.

Good morning. My name is Babs - well, it's really Barbara.

Where do I begin? I've been interested in yoga and 'want' to do it for many years. I've signed up for classes and attended them on several different occasions at several different places. I felt like I just 'couldn't keep up. Couldn't do what everyone else could do.' It was not the instructor's fault. It was not anyone's fault except mine. It has taken me years to convince myself of this, but I believe it was me. I felt self-conscious, overweight, incompetent - you name it.

I don't have a desire to do headstands or anything like that. (Well, at least not today I don't!) But I have a desire to begin practicing yoga.

I've been receiving 'Yoga Journal' for several years. I love that magazine. I have videos, and I have DVD's. Last year I bought Big Yoga Flex-ability with Meera P Kerr and the book 'Megayoga' by Megan Garcia. Last week I received a DVD with Abby Lentz - Heavyweight Yoga 2. I like it.

Now I need to get in the 'habit' of practicing yoga. I am anxious to begin, and I need support. I am losing weight and from what I've read yoga is 'for everyone.' That includes me.
