Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

A place to start is to sift through your mis-steps from the past: what diverted you? What can you do about that? What triggers poor food or activity choices?

Another place to look at are your past successes: what kicked started you into taking better care of yourself? What strategies worked before? Dust 'em off: rinse & repeat!

Don't overwhelm yourself...one step at a time. Work closely with your medical providers and get suggestions from them, discuss your plans with them and get feedback.

My entire life I have been goal weight...at the age of 35(9 years ago) I had 2 heart attacks, a quadruple bypass and now have a pacemaker/defibrillator. I have since found out that 2 of my children have heart issues as well. With all of this going on, things have spiraled out of control and I have gained 30lbs. I need to loose at least 20lbs by summer or risk another heart attack that I may not survive. Its hard for me to stay on track when my husband and children are all thin and do not need the 'diet and exercise'. Just looking for a person/people to pair up with to help keep me motivated and me do the same for them as well.
