Hi Sabrina and welcome. Good for you on the smoking, I quit 5 YO, hard but never looked back. Have you tried reaching for some fruit (love my fruit, sugar, yes, but it works for me in a much more healthy way) or veggies instead of the carbs? That's not a lot of weight to lose, so the cholesterol and triglycerides may be related to something else, have you talked to your physician? Lots of support here, hang out.

Hello, my name is Sabrina. I've been going up and down with my weight for years. I was a heavy smoker and quit 2 1/2 years ago. I don't have much weight to lose, 25lbs would be great, 35 - ideal! I'm getting married next year and want to rock my wedding dress in October of 2015 :) My problem is that I'm experiencing hormonal changes (i'm 47 years old) and my stomach has blown up and it seems that everything I eat or drink causes this reaction. I can wake up in the morning and it will be good and then as soon as I eat breakfast it blows up. It's really getting me down because I'm carrying ALL my weight around my middle and it embarrasses me no end. I really want to get my act together. I have cholesterol issues and high trigs and last I checked was on the road to diabetes. I quit smoking, now I want to get rid of my sugar and carb addictions. I'm hoping that this place will keep me motivated and that it will make losing weight fun. It's about the only thing I haven't tried. Everything else I do not stick to!
