I am so WITH you on dropping the sugar! I've also committed to dropping all grains as well and re-committed to the Nutrition Tracker which is the thing that REALLY works for dropping the pounds.

Hey all. I'm not new to SP. I kind of dropped off the site but I am back now more determined to drop this weight. I've got a new set of goals and new ways of getting there.
I gave up sugar about 10 days ago. I haven't eaten over 10-12 grams of sugar a day. Most days it's closer to 4 or 5. I've lost 5lbs already. I'm feeling better, I'm feeling more confident, and my hopes are up that this is the answer for me.
Regulating the sugar isn't that hard its the outside things...going to a birthday party and not being able to eat anything there except celery (I hate celery). I'm a cook and have to work a benefit this weekend. Besides the veg platters, there is nothing on the menu I'll be able to eat. I'll be surrounded by pastas, breads, baked goods, and I'll have my lunch box with my 3 oz of turkey, nut-thin crackers, and cheese stick. That part sucks but I'm seeing results. I'm not really denying myself anything. I have sugar free pudding made with 1% milk for my sweet tooth, 1 day a week I allow myself a PB&J with sugar free jelly, reduced fat PB on a whole grain flax seed sandwich thin, and I'm always looking for other ways to get the things I like just in a healthy way.
Anyway, I am glad to be back and look forward to a slimming year with everyone here.

Kelly
