I had open heart surgery Jan. 2011 (aortic valve replacement) and gained back some of the weight I had lost. PT had me doing exercises about 1 month later as per doc's orders. Please get clearance from your doc, then start small, gradually increasing your exercise.

Assuming the Doc cleared you for exercise, start simple. Coach Nicole here on Spark has lots of exercises for all levels of fitness and a lot of them require no or minimal equipment. Go for a walk. Go for a walk a little farther or faster every day. Have a bike? Same thing. No? Check craigslist for a used road or stationary bike. Up your veggies and fruit intake. You can do it. P90X, Insanity and stuff like that is like trying to run a marathon when you're learning to walk so don't be discouraged in that.
