emoticon TIKO08 and emoticon to SparkPeople and the team...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Welcome to our SparkFamily!

It can seem overwhelming...have been there, done that...was 450 at one time!

I suggest your initial focus to be especially mindful of food choices and following your nutrition tracker. Calories are the very BEST way to drop those pounds.

That's not to diminish the importance of enjoying your body and moving. But at higher weights it is a greater challenge to enjoy moving your body. I would recommend you pick something low-key and kind to your joints like walking or swimming if possible.

You can DO IT!

I am a female with a lot to lose , I am 40 years old and weigh 386 I have tried weight watchers with no success and I continue to beat myself up over being over weight. I suffer from bi-polar disorder and have gained alot of weight ever since I started taking meds for it back when I was 17. I was an athlete in middle school and high school and because of the weight and the harm it has caused on my joints with the arthritis I suffer from I no longer can play sports which has taken a whole lot of life out of me. I also suffer from fibromyalgia and many days am in such pain that I find it hard to get out of bed let alone do anything. I have started back at excersizing making small steps. Some how I have my dads determination that I can't give up even when things get tough, I lost him in 2002 from cancer and it took a lot out of me. Not a day goes by that I don't think of his determination. Well thats enough about me if anyone could offer any suggestions or encouragement I would be more then willing to hear from you.
