I am on day 5 of using my SPAT and am loving it! I've had a few minor hiccups with the device, but I'm hoping we have those cleared up. All in all, this is a fabulous device and I'm excited about the journey it and I are on! I'm a 38 year-old mom of two boys. My husband and I both work full time. Our family stays fairly active so I'm loving getting to see stats about my day. I didn't know I moved as much as I do!!

Hi Everyone!

I received my SPAT yesterday afternoon. Already logging activity! I'm so excited!

I am late 50's, live with my husband and 2 dogs. Our children are all grown.

I live with Multiple Sclerosis, so I have new "normals" on a daily basis sometimes. My SPAT will help me to see how much activity I'm getting and help me to push for more.

Have a great day!

Hi, everyone!

Got my tracker this afternoon, just in time to go for my afternoon walk, just under 2 miles. Walked to the grocery store this evening, checked the tracker and I have 7000+ steps on my first day! I'm stoked! Look forward to getting all of you better.

Hi I'm Tricia and I just got my tracker and started using it today. I am already hooked. It makes me more mindful of getting my steps in. I walked 2.1 miles today which may not seem like much but I haven't been able to do much in past 2 months due to knee problems. So this is a BIG milestone for me.

Hi, Lori here, have had my tracker for about two weeks now, it has become my right arm! To the point that when my laptop got sick recently and I had to go a day with no knowledge of how my spark tracker was going, I was lost!! Fortunately, my hubby has shared his laptop til mine gets back from the hosp.!!! I am happily filling mine again and fully hooked up to his computer so I can keep a good check on things!! One hurdle at a time, we can do this thing and come out winners on the other side!!!

Today is the 3rd day I've used my SPAT full-time. Being aware that I need to get in those 6,000 steps a day has sparked me to get out of bed in the morning and do my walk/jog exercise. I also get up from my desk several times a day and walk around the building.
I'm surprised how many steps I'm able to get in just walking around the house, doing grocery shopping and the office walks. At first I thought the tracker was way off, but then I thought about all the walking I did on that day, and it was about right.
I don't have a problem with it falling off my shoe. I clip it onto my laces near the toe. Maybe my laces are thicker, so the SPAT stays on better.
Have a great weekend everyone! Work your SPAT!

The longest journey begins with one step.
If it's to be, it's up to me!

Hi everyone and happy Friday!

My name is Jill and yesterday was my first full day with my SPAT. For some reason, it seems to think my elliptical workout is a cycle workout so I'm not so sure how accurate the calorie burn is. I'm going to need to check that against my HRM (if I can find it!). Wearing the SPAT motivated me to park further away from my destination, take the stairs and hop out for a midday walk, so I can see how it will help me be more active and reach my goal.

Hi, my name is Jeanne. I've using the SPAT for about a week. I love it. It's set at 6000 steps now and can manage that on days I work. Other than that, let's just say I really, really need to work on it emoticon

I'm Karyn. This is my 2nd full day with my SPAT (how cute - I just noticed others using it). I am working on a long term work project - sitting at computer for long periods of time. I only did 800 steps yesterday. Today over a 1,000. I have some limitations on excercise, so it is mostly indoors. Every hour today I have made self get up and walk around the house, up and down the hall. My husband thinks I look pretty dump - he doesn't know about the tracker yet. I will wait until I can get more steps.

I've lost 35 lbs with my tracker, and it is because of Jesus Christ that I have had the strength to stick to it and the knowledge of where to start. I want to give the credit to whom it is due today on this Easter Sunday! Because of him we all can have second chances. This video says it all:

Hello Everyone

I had my spat about a week. I have been around sparkpeople off and on.
Is there a way I can make sure my spat doesn't come off. It came off my shoe and a co-worker stop me and said it was on the floor. The reason I where it on my shoe I saw Coach Nicole on HSN. It really comes off real easy. The prongs (that slides on) are not broken. I'm afraid I'm going to lose it. (help) emoticon

Hi everyone! Just got my Spark activity tracker today. Hmm, a little about myself... well, I'm in my early 30's (still feel like a teenager though, lol), I live in Bothell WA, and have a son that will turn 3 years old this May. I enjoy video games, art, yarn crafts, and photography. I'm also looking to try geo-caching and have been trying to improve my walking speed. If you want to know more, take a peek at my page, or just ask me.

Hello my name is Barbie and I received my tracker this past Monday 4 / 7 so today is day 3 for me , so far so good . Hoping it helps keep me motivated and going to lose 35 pounds by August 14th which will be my 48th birthday , I can not think of a better gift I can give to myself then to be rid of those pounds for good .

Hi. I am Wendy. I just got my Spark today. I am so excited I am hoping it helps to keep me motivated so I can win my DietBets. The next one starts the day after Easter. https://www.dietbetter.com/games/41458. Today is a high pain day though, so I am not sure how it is going to go. I am going to try to get up and move for at least 5 minutes each hour.

I'm Carol. I got a SPAT because a Sparkfriend whose blog I follow reports her steps and said I would love it. I am about to retire and while I welcome the chance to have more time for "formal" exercise, it occurred to me that I might also be spending more of my time between exercise sessions simply sitting (reading, knitting, using the computer). I want to keep moving, so I'm going to start tracking.

Hi there, fellow Spark Activity Trackers! It's no surprise to me that I see so many people loving their trackers. I get so excited every morning when I put mine on, then when I get to log in my steps and minutes at night! I hate to admit it, but I am definitely more motivated when I am utilizing a new gadget or gimmick. My last gizmo was the Fitbit Flex and it doesn't hold a candle to the Spark.! I have about 34 more pounds to lose so I'm ready to go--happy thoughts to all:)

Good for you, Pam. 150 miles is a huge accomplishment, you should be very proud of yourself. I love the SPAT as well. It does make you work harder, right? Love your enthusiasm and the fact that you're set with completing your tasks on a daily basis. Keep logging those STEPS.
peace,

emoticon Pam here. I am from Las Vegas and I got my SPAT on 1/8 of this year. I LOVE it. Before the SPAT I never knew, really, how much walking I did on a daily basis. With the SPAT, I set my daily step goal at 5,500 steps and I don't consider my exercise day done until the lights go all the way around.

I cannot believe that this tracker has helped me post over 150 miles walked this year. While I am not a runner, I do walk 2-4 miles daily. Not fast but I am still moving, right?

I am walking my first 5K on 4/12. I think it will work out well. I may not be fast but I dang sure will finish.

Good luck to all with their SPAT. Best thing I ever did for my WL journey was to get this little gaget.

That's Terrific, PotatoChip72. Congrat's on the SPAT. This is a great place to stay accountable and get the advice you need. Many here, are with you,...every STEP of the way....Oh!...and Mini, it takes me 50 minutes to go the 6 miles. Right now, while training,..it's Long, Slow, Distance (LSD) for me.
peace,
Robert

Hi from central Ohio. Where like most of the Midwest if you wait 5 minutes the weather will change and usually does. I am a self employed embroiderer for that past 20 years.
So "scheduling time to work out" is fun. I've been on SP for awhile but in the background. My daughter is tired of being my only friend on SP and is helping me break out of my ruts.
She spent a few hours showing me the ropes and encouraging me to communicate with people on SP. Yea for Peanutsmom96 and thanks.

Just got my SPAT , got it set up , now I need to calibrate it and then I'm off and movin' and loosing. emoticon

Just keep Swimin, Swimin, Swimin!

KSGAMMA, thank you for posting that you wear the SAT for water jogging. I alternate walking days with water jogging days and am going to try it.
My device came yesterday and I used it today to walk ALL MY STEPS at The Henry Ford museum in my town. I am registered for my first 5K next weekend and planned to walk it, but was stressed with worry that I would not last those 3.11 miles. I entered "6,000 steps = miles" in Google and up came a Blue Cross page, estimating 6,000 as 3 miles! I am so relieved! I will be able to do it as long as I wear a headset and the playlist I created for myself, as I did today. Oh, and wear the SparkPeople Activity Tracker too.
My SAT was a gift to myself for losing 35 pounds in the last year. Monday is my annual oncologist checkup appointment. It is the first year I have *lost* weight and I'm so excited to hear what he says!

Hi SPAT mates,
Iíve been wearing my tracker for a week and a half now and loving it. Iím finding it so much more reliable, fun to use and less frustrating than my old pedometer. Love the lights when I hit my goal.

Good luck with that half marathon Robert. There is a 15k on Sunday in my area but I am not sure if I will try it maybe I will wait for the next one. I do 2 hours a day joggiing and walking. I jog for as long as I can (about an hour usually or more) and walk for what ever time is left in the 2 hour. About your back, I wear a back belt (under $30 at Walmart) and find it really helps with that ache in your lower back when you are running, but you are right exercise is the way to go, it's finding the time. How long does it take you to run 6 miles? Take care bye.

Hello everyone, I received my tracker yesterday, love it. It motivates me to get moving and keep up with my walking. Now that the good weather is here I will be doing more walking.
