Nice Job, Mini ! Mini,...Post your next run results, I'm interested in your progress. I think I'm going to schedule a half-marathon. I am up to 6 miles for every run. I'm feeling great but, I know that I have to stretch more. Think I will incorporate some Yoga into the mix,...I'm a little tight in my lower back. Keep STEPPING IT UP!
peace,
Robert

Hello Penny,
Robert, Here. Penny, just leave the "dongle" plugged into your computer. It will glow green when everything is working well, red when it needs to be refreshed. Other than that you simply have to walk within 50 feet of your computer and the information gets automatically synchronized into your spark page. Now,...all you have to do is watch your daily totals rise and your health and weight optimize. Enjoy!
peace,
Robert

Hi everyone! I'm new to this team. I just got my tracker in the mail, too. I can't believe how many steps I took just to walk to the store and back. Does anyone happen to know whether you are supposed to remove that little thing you plug into the USB port after your steps are tracked? Can you leave it in there or should it be removed? I'm not that computer savvy. I don't even know what it's called.

I look forward to reading posts from this team.

Penny

Just got my SP activity tracker in the mail about five minutes ago! Am super excited to use it!

I am 33 weeks pregnant, with some joint issues - my goals have to be modest, but I am hoping that this SPAT will help keep me consistent, even if I can't do that much at a time!!!

Hi
I’ve had my activity tracker for a week now and I’m loving it. It helps keep me on track and motivates me to see it all lit up!

Hi sport nut, yes I am new to running but really enjoying it. I did give myself a large blood blister and had to take a day off. I did close to 74K for each week of March. Pretty happy about that total.

minihaha - you message to Llui came up twice here but as if in the wrong forum as I don't see anything connected to it. Peterborough caught my attention though - I live in Peterborough.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Robert. I believe it's a privilege to be a part of this Spark Team and I thank you for the opportunity. The activity tracker arrived last Friday. There was some initial trouble with the setup but, it seems to be working just fine, now. I love to participate in a multiple of exercise activities such as, running, walking, cycling, and a personal favorite,...ice skating. I am looking forward to tracking many fun lifestyle moments with this little gadget. It's great not having to load some of these exercises in the fitness tracker, isn't it? In addition, I look forward to the prospect of having some new Spark Friends. I wish all of you, many healthy miles along this fitness journey.
peace,

Ilou - I do aquafit exercise and water jogging without water shoes. I wear the tracker on the inside of the bathing suit bra (if you can call it that, lol). It picks up the jogging but not the hour of exercise and I'm moving the whole time. I tried clipping it to my medic alert bracelet on my wrist and again it recorded my water jogging but not my aquafit exercise. But, my point is, it did pick up something wearing it on my wrist - is there any way you can wear it on something on your wrist? Also, one of the recommended places to wear it is on the outer side of a hip so it could be attached to your waist band perhaps. Good luck with it. I've had mine 2 days over a week.

Hi, everyone. I am llou and just got my tracker yesterday. Today was my first day wearing it and it seems to have picked up my steps pretty well as I wore it clipped to my shoe. However, it did not pick up my exercise session at all as I exercise barefoot and had to clip it to my bra. I'm not sure what I am going to do about that.

I bought the tracker as a way to "change things up" and get back on track. I have been on a plateau for several months and hope to lose another 10-15 pounds over the next year.

I'm just back from my workout in the pool. I made certain this time that my legs were in constant motion yet my tracker only tracked me as working out for 17 mins and my total minutes are only at 61. I did 60 mins aquafit exercise with jogging on the spot immediately after finishing an exercise before starting the next - even when I stopped for a drink of water - I jogged on the spot! and I did 30 mins of water jogging - so it didn't even count all the jogging time. I really thought it should be able to accurately pick up

Hi: I'm Lin. I've been on Spark for awhile and belong to a number of Spark Teams. I just this week started using the Spark Activity Tracker. Tonight, I stumbled onto this Team page. The Team is listed as Private and I don't see where one can join - suggestions? I have a number of chronic medical conditions, the worst of which is Dilated Cardiomyopathy. That condition hampers my breathing, stamina, and energy. Although my heart function is only 24% at present, I find that the more I do, the more I can do (within reason). I try to go to the Y pool Tues., Thurs., Sat. and Sun. and do 60 mins of aquafit exercise and 30 mins of water jogging each time. If I remember correctly, the Tracker information states it will only accurately track walking and jogging, elliptical exercise, pedaling on a bike, and going on a treadmill. It has tracked the jogging portion of my exercise but usually only tracks 10 mins or so of the 60 mins aquafit. I am surprised at that since there is constant motion of arms and legs for the whole hour. On those days I'm logging just over 6000 steps. On off days when I don't go to the pool I try to use my pedaling machine (pedals that can be used by both hands and feet without the body of a bike). The tracker tracks that very well and the first day I tracked that, I logged almost 10,000 steps. So far it has been fun monitoring and being able to do so, is also acting as an incentive to exercise when I might otherwise have talked myself out of it for that day.

Hi I am Carollee from Burlington Vt. I am a grandmother who works a full time sedentary job at a hospital nearby, I also have arthritis. I bought the tracker then realized that I needed a computer to really make it work. so this has been a learning experiance for me.

I like to go on short hikes and recently bought an aerobic step and hope to start riding my bike again

My name is Tonda and I love this so far. Was very easy to set up and wore it to work and the gym today. Was amazed at how it tracked my workout at the gym. Raised the goal from 6,000 to 9,000 since I had already hit 7,900 after workout. I find it interesting that it tracks "other" kind of activities too. lol

Hello SPAT teammates,

My name is Rebecca and I am a longtime member of SP. I started using my SPAT yesterday and am still also wearing the BodyMedia fit monitor that I have worn for 3 something years.
I am giving this some time but so far have seen HUGE discrepancies between the two devices.

I do find it good motivation to track, monitor and get feedback on activities. I wish you all best of success with all your goals. emoticon

Hi, my name is Diane. I just activated my activity tracker. I am having some problem getting it to install on my new PC which uses the Windows 8 system. It did however install on my laptop which uses Windows Vista. I left a message for Tech Support about the problem, but have not heard from them yet.

I am very excited about using the tracker. Can anyone help with the above situation.

Hi everyone. I am happy to join this team. Started using tracker on Saturday (1900 steps). Sunday 2400 was better but knew that Monday I would hit the 6,000 steps goal. I volunteer at a hospital on Mondays. Came home and took the dog for a walk and I reached 7,204 steps today. Feels good. I am very happy that my friend told me about this site and the tracker. .

This is my day 1 of the 100 minute challenge and my first post here. I used to have an activity monitor (from some other company) but recently switched to the Spark Activity Tracker. I have been 'moving'/'exercising' for about 4 years now, but need to get back in the swing. I had to switch from low-impact aerobics to water aerobics (about a year ago) due to foot pain from arthritis. But, I now have two new toe joints (thanks to advances in modern medicine) and I'm back in the pool and slowly getting back on my bike (with a new bike trainer). I have a long term goal of a bike-a-thon (I signed up for 65 miles) in July and another 150 mile 4-day trip in early fall. I need to get up on that bike for no less than 30 minutes 5 days a week. I'll be checking in daily to get and give lots of encouragement and support. Together.....we can do this!

Hi! I've been using my SPAT for a couple weeks, and tracking other fitness and nutrition. It's been enlightening. Some things I was already doing well, and others I need to improve. Affirmation of getting it right is great, and learning what I can do better will help me become healthier.

See y'all around!

If you wake up, it's a good day.
