If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win but think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can. (Walter D. Wintle)

Congrats on that weight loss and nutrition planning! Getting the proper nutrition without over doing the calories is indeed a challenge within itself!

For purposes of tracking my progress, I'll try to post updates to this topic thread "CatinCJ's March Challenge"

3/15/13 Yesterday was a success.

Nutrition: I'm experimenting with different ways to get in all my nutritional requirements and yet keep the calories lower. So, for a couple of days, I've been making fruit smoothies with added fiber. Last night I fixed dinner (hubby usually does the cooking). Rather than the heavy meat, I prepared a light omelette with 1 oz of shredded cheese and some diced ham. It was yummy and we both slept great last night.

Fitness: It was a rest day for me after a very strenuous work-out the day before. But I got in my steps and lots of stretching, to keep my ol bod from locking up....

This morning I'm another half pound down!!! Wooohoooo!

That sounds great! I will definitely create at least one Forum today. I am hoping that topics that do not fit with the forum are discussed within the general discussion forum. Thanks for that idea!

Why not just make a topic for motivation and require that we use it when we huddle (suggestion) only...I do this on other teams and some results are good some quickly aren't used!

Here is an example of what I am posting today...

True Grit
Charles Ghigna

The move from failure to success
Takes more than simply grit;
It starts when you first realize
You know you'll never quit

We can also link to SP motivational articles and pics!

I'm ready for this challenge too! I am thinking now of ways to keep everyone motivated once we're two or three weeks into the challenge.

I agree that this team should definitely provide a good source of encouragement and support.

Your March Challenge sounds great! At least you've noticed that you were slipping down the wrong path and now you're trying to get back on track! Honesty and accountability are quite important. Perhaps the more that we're honest with ourselves and face the negative health choices that we make, we will be convicted of these poor decisions and make a greater effort to improve ourselves. This could definitely work for you and our team members!

I think it's great that you're doing strength AND aerobics (and core). So, you'll have a pretty good variety of things to do so that you don't become bored! And you're right! The hardest part about most workouts is retaining the desire and will to do it! So, we can definitely start mentally preparing for this challenge.

Hope you stick with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! lol emoticon

Thanks for the invitation to join your challenge team!
And I am up for the challenge.

This is the game plan that I started at the first of March.
But I find that I need the motivation and support from a team . . . so here goes!

March Challenge: GAME ON!!! After a couple months on 'maintenance' I find myself slipping . . . not exercising as much as I need to; eyeballing rather than measuring my food.

Although I'm not gaining, I just don't feel SPARKY.
So, I am challenging myself to get back on track.
For the Month of March, my challenge is to keep myself honest and accountable.
* Weigh in & measure on the 1st
* weigh in weekly - report gain/loss
* measure and track my food,
* track fitness:
minimum (repeat MINIMUM) 10 minutes daily
Aerobics 3x wk
Strength 2x wk
Core 3x wk

This really is NOT that hard. It's just sticking to it. And doing it.

I'm eager to see what amazing results I will have with these few, seemingly insignificant changes to my daily routine.

I'm ready! Woooohooooo!

Cathy
