Hi! I'm Emily. I have been using Sparkpeople for over a year but my lack of exercise motivation and food addiction just keep my bouncing up and down 20 lbs for a year.

I feel I am finally getting on the right track mentally and getting more movement in.

I am excited about this book. I need the extra push especially in the healthy food area.

I don't get my book until the 15th but I'll be starting as soon as it arrives.

Let's do this!

I'm a 63 year old grandmother of 4 young adults. I am still working for the school district by have had my hours cut to half time. I am filling in at 2 other schools to make ends meet (barely) and I commute on public transportation as I do not have a car(to expensive)

I am a yo yo dieter, I have lost about 45 lbs over the last few years and have keep most of it off. My weight keeps fluctuating, up and down by 5 lbs. or so. I am ready to get it off and keep it off.

I have begun to read the book, I love to read. My biggest problem is with me working half time I do not get a regular lunch break so I end up eating "lunch" at my desk while working. I don't have any down time between school sites. This makes things really difficult for me, but I am determined to make this work.

Here's to a successful "Spark Solution" 2 weeks.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there.

Hi! My name is Roxann and TRY are actually the initials of my middle, maiden and last names. Plus... I have a beef with Yoda and don't quite believe in do/do not... there is no try. I'm still of the opinion that the first step to doing anything is trying. emoticon
Finished the reading assignment today. Even though I don't enjoy reading as I did when I was younger, I did enjoy what I read and am VERY EXCITED to give it a go!
Unfortunately, we had done our grocery shopping before I got the book a couple of days ago or saw the assignment... and well... our fridge and 2 freezers are TOTALLY packed!!
Fortunately, we have been buying, preparing and cooking good food. SO, I am going to do the best I can to come REALLY close to the meal plans provided... trying to match calories, carbs, proteins and such as closely as I can. Then maybe in weeks 3 and 4, when we're supposed to be "practicing" switching things up some more, I can go back and use the menus from weeks 1 and 2. Hopefully... emoticon ... that's the plan anyway! emoticon
Enjoy "The Spark Solution" everyone and best of luck in reaching your desired goals! emoticon SPARK ON!!!

Hi, I'm Cassie. I been on site for some years. I haven't lost my weight but being here has definitely kept me from the upward gaining spiral I was on. I purchased my book and hope that this experience will get me on the losing track. I'm a little concerned about the shopping list. I live alone and the weekly food lists have way too much. I can't really afford to throw food away. Is anyone else concerned about the amounts?

Hi my name is Isabel - Jacksonville, FL
I sign on to SP on Jan 2010 but did not took full advantage of this wonderful web site until I hit bottom in Sept 2011. Since them I have been faithfully logged all my food and fitness minutes I have had ups and downs but I have lost 40 Lbs. I feel great physically and mentally, my high blood pressure and cholesterol is better now than when I was half my age.
I joined the challenge to bust my motivation and master what I have not been able to master yet on my own, I too have few days I will be away from home, for my granddaughters graduation on the last part of the 2nd week. But with all I have already learned about my healthy life style and the first week and half in the program I'm confident that I will do good.
I hope everyone succeed on what ever you join the program to accomplish.

Hi, all. I have been consistently logging in to Spark People since August of 2011. But my food program ground to a halt and stress (work) has been consuming me. I am joining the Challenge even though I will be travelling for work 8 out of the 14 days so there will be no grocery shopping, cooking or much of any household time at all. My goal is simply to make healthy food choices and track daily. I'll be reading the posts, posting as I am able and working out in between work services. I am worried about the Challenge during this work stint but it occurred to me that this is my life! This is how it goes a lot of the time. I gotta learn to face work challenges in a healthy way. I want to learn to cope with the stress (outrageous stuff comes down from my employer at times) and stay healthy! So that is how I am gonna use the Challenge! Hope everyone else reaches their goals!

You’ll get where you want to go as long as you are taking more steps in the right direction than the wrong one.

Hi my name is Mari. I have been away from Spark for some time. On occasion I would pop in but never stay very long. I really did well the first year I was on Spark and than I fell (which feels like a very big hole). I have gained everything i had lost plus more. I have been struggling to get back up and am looking forward to start climbing out of this hole I have put myself in. This I feel is the jump start I need.

Hello. My name is Michele. I've been a member of Sparkpeople for forever! My weight has been huge roller coaster ride and I'm hoping that these two weeks will get me off of it! I've accomplished so much in my life but my weight is still an issue. I've read the intro and start of the book (up to day two) and did my grocery shopping yesterday. I live in a remote community that is only accessible by plane. Our grocery store is about the size of a corner store. We have no fresh meat and limited fresh fruits and veggies. We sometimes have whole wheat bread but that is the only whole wheat product we have. I think my biggest challenge will be finding healthy solutions with limited options. Prices are also very high. A gallon of milk is $10, frozen chicken is $8/lb. I plan on working out in my house as we don't have a gym and it is not always safe to be outside (wild animals, weather, etc.). I also plan on wearing a pedometer so I can set a step goal to reach daily. Anyway, I'm really excited about this book, I really need to get some weight off by summer and I hope these two weeks will give me the kick start I need!

Not sure if I am posting this correctly. I am hoping this new book and team will inspire me to stick to my goals. I am approaching 60 and have slowly gained 70 pounds over the past 20 years. I can't believe that it happened and that I saw it happening. Always have exercised, believing that would keep it in check. But obviously putting in too many calories in my body each day, sitting all day at work, stress, slowing down the exercise as I put on the pounds and menopause has gotten me here. Now is the time to break the cycle! Hoping with this program and your support I can!

Hi team. I am Rosa from the UK and downloaded the Solution to both Kindle and Ipad last Tuesday so have made a start reading it. I first joined Spark in 2008 but due to bereavements in the family was largely missing from 2009 to 2012 but rejoined last November and have stayed on track ever since. I have been losing an average lb a week so don't expect the Solution will change that, but am hoping it will hone my skills and keep my motivation high.

Hi Team Members. I got my book yesterday and plan to start reading tonight. I've been an on again off again member since 2009. This last year I lost 35 pounds, but then we moved half way around the world and it has been difficult to get the exercise and eating back on track. I'm on home leave now, so back in the US for the next four weeks. Hoping this will get me back on track again, and give me the momentum to continue on the right path.

Hi Team Members! I'm KarenLeigh, I just got my book today at Barns & Noble and can't wait until the 13th to get started with this new challenge. I've joined SP Sept 2012 and have lost approx. 30 - 40 pounds! I've been slipping a little lately and decided this may be just the answer to get me back in gear! Good luck to everyone!

Hi Team, my name is Kimmy and I'm so excited to begin this journey. This is exactly what I need for guidance. I'm pretty much a solitary person, not comfortable with going to the gym or joining community weight loss facilities. So this is perfect for me! I live in the Midwest (USA) and we are just starting to get nice weather for outdoor activities, perfect timing for this challenge.

Hi everyone!!! I'm Judy (JudsterF). I've been with SparkPeople since mid May, 2012. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my adult life. I come from a very dysfunctional family life with a lot of baggage. I pre-ordered my book about a month ago and received it on the 7th of May. I have read the first part of the book and am looking forward to doing the first two weeks as a group. I seem to lose 1, gain 2, lose 2, gain 1 etc etc. For the past two years I've had many, many (way too many) surgeries that have prevented me from exercising for the most part of those two years. I've been able to start walking and do about 1 mile 2x's a day. I'm presently fighting with an arthritic spine with a swollen and pinched nerve in my lower back along with an infected big toe so things are a little difficult again. I also have fibromyalgia and Diabetes II. I'm looking forward to this challenge which I know I will have trouble doing several of the exercises but will do what I can with them. I have been able to lose about 25# so far since being on SparkPeople. See you all on the 13th.

Judy

Hi, everybody. I'm Emily and have been overweight for most of my life. I am taking it very slowly this go-'round, working on twenty-pound goals over a span of several months. I'm almost down twenty pounds and am still going strong! I hope this book, team and challenge will help me focus even more on my healthy lifestyle and give me some structure and ideas. Have a great day!

Stay positive.

Hello! My name is Barb. I am 56 and wanting to get off my roller coaster. I have about 10 lbs I would like to lose or get to a 'happy median" and stay there! ! I am at the age where I do not want to exercise myself crazy or keep my calories at an unrealistic low just to lose then gain it back! I want a life style. So,here I am! Ready to begin! emoticon

Being consistant will get it done!

Hello Team!

My name is Cathy - I just turned 50 a couple of months ago and with the help here at SP I have already lost 20 of the 45-50 I want to lose. My ticker says less because I had already started by the time I actually put it down on SP. I was hitting a rut and the Spark Solution came along just in time. I got my book yesterday.

I will be spending some time this weekend getting into the book, purchasing what is needed and getting ready to step off on this adventure on Monday.
WooHoo!!!

I am looking forward to this challenge. I really need this right now. I have only gained back 5 pds over the last couple months but overall I have fallen off the wagon badly.

Hi! I preordered the book and receved it in today's mail. My husband took a look at the cover and said I won't be stealing that one from you to read! Too bad, he's way more over weight that I am. Anyway I'm looking forward to test driving the book for the next two weeks.

Hi everybody, just wanted to say I bought the book a couple of days ago and have made it through the inspiring introduction :-). I have been a spark people member for a long time but haven't really participated much up to this point. Being a real yo-yo dieter, I'm ready (and need) to commit to healthy living! So the two weeks starting Monday are hugely important and I'm excited about doing this together with "all y'all." emoticon

Hi!
Bought the book today at Barnes and Noble. I was reading the first chapter while we were drinking coffee at BN and my husband asked me what I was reading. I told him about Spark Solution and Spark People. He said he needed to lose a few pounds. So...we are going to do this challenge together. I am retired. I have thyroid goiters and have some gluten intolerance. I may have to substitute gluten free products in several recipes. Because of the thyroid disease and goiters I have metabolism problems. I look forward to seeing my results and am ready to start!
