Hi everyone, I am new to the team, here because I received an invite in my inbox. I am returning SP member, have been away for a long time caring for an elderly parent. She is now in assisted living and my life has been given back to me...not completely but I am so excited to return.

I had lost 60 pounds last year but once I became the sole caregiver for Mom, the stress, just blew that loss to kingdom come! I gained nearly all of it back BUT... I am starting over and so excited about gaining the control back in my life. I love my mom but being a caregiver is very difficult, VERY, VERY DIFFICULT.

Once you are in it, you just can't imagine the level of stress. It is a fact that many/most caregivers suffer tremendous health issues due to the stress of taking care of a loved one, and in many instance, lose their own lives before the person they are caring for passes. Just mind blowing statistics.

Looking forward a great year in taking care of myself... moving toward my ultimate weight goal of 124 pounds, my exercise goal of working out 5 days a week, and my personal list of to-do's... I am really excited!
