Hi TOPS,

I started making my own version of Cheesy Garlic Cauliflower Bread. Don't put any toppings on it, so it cuts down on the calories. I wrap it around my hot dog. I don't like the beef ones, so my hot dog has more calories than yours. Bryan Red hot dogs, 110 calories.

I also use cauliflower instead of potatoes to mash. I use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream (lactose intolerant).

I don't eat a lot of real meat any more, so I eat Boca Vegan Burgers...only 70 calories...and I just skip the bread. Sometimes break it up and scramble with an egg.

I'm glad you decided to join us!

Ramona

I noticed this team on featured teams the other day. It looks like a great team for me since I'm all about counting calories. It's a numbers game, calories eaten versus calories burned, in a healthy way of course.

I weigh, measure, and count everything I eat. Sometimes it makes my family nuts. I have broken down favorite recipes by ingredients and run them through the SP recipe calculator. I've done some recipe makeovers so they are lower in calories but still tasty. I measured out each recipe to determine portion sizes so I know exactly how many servings and how many calories are in each serving.

I love to find lower calorie options that are very satisfying that I can enjoy without feeling deprived. I found some Sara Lee Lite Hot Dog Buns that only have 80 calories per bun, and Hebrew National Reduced Fat Hot Dogs that only have 45 calories per dog. I can enjoy a hot dog for 125 calories. If I'm really hungry I can even have 2 without blowing most of my calories for the day. I discovered Veggie Straws, honey mustard is my favorite flavor. Only 130 calories per 1 oz serving, or 38 straws. They make a nice pile on my plate when compared to Frittos Scoops at 140 calories for 10 chips. If that's all I get it's hardly worth bothering with. I like to make the most of the calories that I am allotted for the day.

What are some of your favorite lower calorie finds?
