Hi, I'm Pam. This is my second time doing this challenge. The reason why I wanted to do it a second time is that I just finished a month long fruit and vegetable challenge in another team (not site-lead) and I so enjoyed it (it kept me so focus, especially to reach for fruits and vegetables rather than other foods) that I just wanted to back all of that work up with this challenge.

Serena, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I hope you will find support here, as well as any one else who is struggling with weight loss (me included).

My name is serena i have been on sparks for 9 years. I lost all my weight in 2006 than a had a really bad thing happen no one should go though my son passed away. I than started to eat bad again did not care about health. Since
2007 i have been blessed with 2 more kids both boys. I had my last son feb 2011 so i decided than i wanted to get healthy again when i started lossing weight
I was 235 pounds it has been i long challange. In jan
This year i had health issues graves
And hyperthyroid i lost 20 pounds in 3 mth
Because of it so right now i weigh my goal weight but i have been told i will gain in all back so i am looking for all the help i can get to stay this weight

Hi All!
My name is Mary. I am active on the People with Disabilities Team. I declared April the NO JUNK FOOD - EAT HEALTHY MONTH. I realized that I had started to eat too many snacks in March - and not the right kind of food. I figured out that the reason I wanted crackers or chips was I wanted crunch so I started snacking on carrot chips with a little light ranch dressing to dip them in. Anyone got other suggestions?

Hello, Everyone. I'm Sally. I retired a few months ago--was a long time Hospice RN. Loved my job but my husband got a new job in western WA (Everett) so moved here from eastern WA--Loon Lake WA near Spokane. I'm now trying to acclimate to new area and trying to make new friends. We've been married 32 years. Have a 30 year old son in Chicago and 28 year old daughter still in Spokane WA. (Unfortunately both are still single; no grandchildren yet.) I am having a knee replacement in mid May; was instructed by surgeon to lose 20 pounds prior to surgery. I've lost 18 so far thanks to joining Sparkpeople and plan to continue losing until I reach my goal of losing 100 total. I have been reluctant to get involved in group messaging but have been following posts and decided to get up my courage and join in.

Hi everyone and hello from Colorado. My name is Betty and I have been a Spark member since 2008. Spark helped me lose about 30 pounds by helping me track and be honest. I have managed to keep off 20 of those pounds - I wasn't at goal - and now it is time to put myself back on TRACK - food and fitness. I know that I do well when I track and I do not want the scale to continue sliding up - so, here I am. I chose this challenge because I knew I was being a bit deficient in the fruits and veggie area. I am excited to be back and want to stay involved! emoticon
I participate in 5K's, 10K's and half marathons regularly - I am a "wogger" - my next scheduled 10K is in early May and my next scheduled Half Marathon is June 1 in Niagara Falls and I want to feel much better in my performance! Hence, I am here and I am ready! emoticon

Hi everyone...Happy St. Patrick's Day hope you are all having a good day today.
I'm Trish and I'm a 60 yr. old Canadian grandmother living in a small southern Alberta rural village. My goal is to reach 130 lbs but that is not as important to me as learning about how much nutrition I am getting in my diet. I learned I was deficient in most of the minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium ect. and too high in vitamin A. I do good making sure I get my 5 servings of fruit and vegetable, 6 oz. protien and 2 servings of dairy each day and my fat intake is reasonable. I have problems drinking enough water even though I have a three cup water bottle I only seem to fill it twice during the day and have to work at remembering to drink out of it while it's right along side of me. I am working on the 5K marathon program for beginners. I'm on week 2 because I had to wait for the ice to melt off of the streets before I could go running outside. Most of the winter I walked on my treadmill so I know I can walk the distance but I really want to run it. I'm signing up for my first 5K Color Run in July so I have plenty of time to prepare for it. Every day I do stretches and crunches also and my warm-up and cool-down is to Club Dance music on the TV music channel. I'm beginning to feel like a kid again. Come visit me on my Spark Page. I'm trying to develop some like minded people to establish a support group now that I know what I am doing, I'd like to have some friends in common who want to share their experiences with me as well.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

Hi I'm Mona, I have been trying to lose weight through SP since Oct -13. I have been tracking my food, drinking my 10 glasses of water and getting my exercise done. with no weight lost. What I have not been able to complete is eating my fruit and veggies and staying in my calorie range. Hoping this challenge will help with that

I'm Bob, have been on SP for 15 months. I've lost about 45 pounds and have about 20 to go to reach my target. Then I'll see whether I need to go further. SP is the best motivational site I've seen, and provides me with most of the health and diet information I use.

I have been on SP about three weeks. My first dietary goal was to cut sugar out of my diet (I ended up cutting out dairy too). Sugar is a huge stumbling block for me! I took a good look at the food I have been tracking and saw that I need to make some changes and fit some fruit and veggies into my day. Many days I only had 2 servings! I am looking forward to having some friends along as I figure out some changes.

Hi, I am new to this challenge. I started my journey a year ago when I was preparing for a trip where I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. My husband and I started walked everyday. We started at about 2km a day and gradually have worked up. I noticed a weight loss so decided to keep on going. I am down 50 lbs and am walking anywhere from 6 to 10 k a day. I found that I was not losing very quickly so I decided to join Sparkpeople to keep myself on track. The weight is still very slow but am training myself to be more mindful of what I am eating and to learn to eat in a healthy way.
Last week I started training to walk a half marathon on June 1. I go out with my walking group 3 times a week and am learning to up the ante. I am hopeful that this will help me get through the challenge of not losing as quickly as I wanted. I am hoping to get many ideas and support from the team to ready me for this challenge I have taken on.

Hi everyone, I'm louise have been a member of spark people for a while now but haven't been very active here for some time, it is time for that to change.
I'm also a member of tops. Take off pounds senibily, been a member there since 2007 and did great when first joined have lost 26 pounnds which I've kept off but over the past year I've lost and regained the same 10 pounds. Hi, Been a member of Spark People since 2011. I like having the challenges to keep me accountable to healthier choices. Since joining Spark and eating healthier I haven't had many stomach problems. Sometimes I do have too much fiber and I'm understanding that could be harmful just like having too little fiber so I will be tracking this closely.

Hi everyone -

I did the January Jumpstart last month to get my activity started and I really liked it. Now that I'm moving and tracking my food, I want to improve my diet. I tend to eat from boredom, stress and I choose high calorie snacks like cheese or chips. I don't love fruits and vegetables, and I need to eat more of them in general. Since doing the Jumpstart was so helpful I guess I like a to-do list), I thought I'd try this challenge and see how it goes.

Hi, my name is Janis, and I'm joining this team because my eating is out of control. I make it a point to exercise every day. The activity tracker has helped me in that department. I've been exercising 30 minutes a day. My eating habits are bad. Once I eat my first meal, it's like I continue to eat, eat and eat. Sweets is mostly my downfall. Lately, another bad habit I've started, is eating potato chips.
I had reached my goal in October of 2012. I had started that journey to lose 31 pounds in February 2012. I was highly motivated. In December of that year I was working on another issue related to health, but as I realize now it was an unnecessary one. My focus totally dropped away from my daily exercise and eating in a healthy way to maintain my weight loss. I feel that a lot of my picked up unhealthy habits started due to anxiety.
I feel this team may be the answer to get me back on track.

I know my calorie range and split it into 3 meals & 2 snacks. I know my carb limit that works for me.

What I need is to become more focused and concentrated on following what I know

glad you are back.....just knowing that you messed up is the beginning of our challenge...i myself have been struggling and losing weight for the past 10 years I somehow been losing.....it has been a slow process but still going for the goal......I don't want to be trapped in this body that I destroyed by overeating......you can do it and you are not alone... emoticon emoticon

Hello!
I have decided to join this challenge. At work we have also begin our own challenge. It is a challenge for me to lose weight :( For the last couple of months I have gained and lost 2 to 4 lbs. I lose motivation and am usually broke so I have no money to buy healthier food choices for myself. I average 5-6 hours asleep, which I know is not good. I work full time, have a family, am going to school, and attend a professional development class. My job is very stressful and my finances are stressing me out. I don't want to make excuses as to why it is challenging BUT I feel lost and hopeless but I am not ready to throw in the towel!!!
