Hi. I just joined this challenge. I was trying to do the January Jumpstart Challenge, but after a week of being sick and then a bad fall on the ice that injured my shoulder, I decided to quit that one and work on my eating habits. I don't think exercise is my problem either. I actually like to be active. But, I am pretty discouraged. I will eat healthy for a few days then quit. I would like to develop consistency in my eating habits. I can't seem to turn my "I Really Want to Lose Weight" into the ACTION of losing weight.

I need to majorly get back on track and whatever was happening this wknd I gained 3 lbs over the wknd and started exercising and eating a little better jan 2. As of today I'm gonna use all my willpower to not drink pop or not often as sometimes it's bad to go cold turkey else get headaches. I only have 3 cans soda left in fridge and haven't had any pop today which is good. I am no longer buying any pop for my home that way I won't have temptation at home. I'm gonna see if i can manage to go the rest of the wk without any pop and see if exercise and no pop helps to lose weight. It's a new year so need the weight to finally come off, in past when I've gotten to 171 i seem to gain it back but maybe cuz i still had too much bad carbs so I want to stop gaining after this past wknd and see if I can start to lose; was hoping to lose 2 lbs per wk if possible but even 1 per wk i'd be happy. I gotta find the right food/exercise combo that works for me.

Good Morning,
I am back after a long absence and hoping to complete this challenge over the next month. I was making some good progress quite a while ago and then I went through a period of extreme stress and I seemed to gain weight no matter what I tried. This year, I am planning to put me ahead of a lot of other priorities to see if I can turn the whole thing around.
So, my name is Donna and I am a 57 year old high school teacher with two grown boys, a marvelous DH and two adorable GDD. I am always super busy because I help several relatives, advise two clubs, teach 5 diffferent classes with 180 students, and I say yes to too many committees. I enjoy ballroom dance and working out once I get there. I also enjoy gardening, biking, and kayaking. I look forward to getting to know you.

Good Afternoon...people call me Hadie!! This is day 2 on this website. I was 12 lbs away from goal weight last summer and lost focus... Now I am up 16 lbs and I am finally done playing the up/down game. These 28 pounds are coming off with lots of fruits/veggies and sweat!!! And they are coming off now!!! Hi..I have been around Spark for a while now, been up and down weight-wise. After attempting to reach my goal weight since last Jan; I have gone from 194 to 171 at my lowest. Sadly, I am creeping back up and now have re-visited 186 emoticon

Hey Ive been a member of sp before but I lost track of life and my weight. I am excited for this challenge. Maybe all this can help me to lose the weight and get rid of my pre diabetes. I am losing weight not only to get rid of my pre diabetes but to have another child. My weight is causing all sorts of health problems for me. Wish me luck. This time around I am going to get better.

Hi..I am Kat from Reno and I enjoy these challenges. They help me stay focused and to check myself regularly. I am on a special diet due to health restrictions and am trying to find my way in the maze of diet plans. I have to LIKE what I eat or I won't eat. I am not hungry so I have found that if I make myself "snack" during the day, the small amount seems to work better for me.

Hi everyone, I joined this challenge to help get me motivated to start tracking my food daily. It's been a real problem for me. I am trying to adopt a clean eating lifestyle, which includes no genetically modified organisms, so affording healthy foods is a bit of a challenge for me since the only way to guarantee being GMO free is getting only organic grains, animal products, and produce over conventional, and I'm on a tight budget. Really the difficulty is getting organic meats, its the only way to ensure that the animal you are eating wasn't fed a GMO diet and they are just so expensive.

Anyway, feel like I just rambled, looking forward to get in as many fruits and veggies minus beans and lentils (I don't like them and can't bring myself to eat them) as possible and to kick processed food items in the butt and out of my diet for good!

My name is Gita. I'm a stay at home mom of two boys which I home school and an almost 2 week old baby girl. I'm a very busy mom but I want to make sure that I take the time to take care of myself even if its only focusing on the food while I'm waiting for my body to recuperate. Throughout my pregnancy I would go to my local Farmer's Market and buy fruits and veggies and cook or juice with them and I am so glad to find a challenge that focuses more on the fruits and veggies :)

I completed this challenge last spring, but sadly have found myself off track, so I've decided to do it again. Completing it the last time changed my eating habits so much & I felt great!

Even though I got off track & gained some of the weight back that I had lost, I still incorporate many of the healthy habits I learned from this challenge, just not to the full exent. And I know that's why my weight gain wasn't more!

Hi my name is Debbie. I have 50 pounds to loose. I've been back and forth on SparkPeople for years. I do really good while I'm here but can't seem to committ for very long.
