Hi, I'm Debbie, and looking forward to meeting all of you on this team. I've used Spark People since 2009, attained my goal, maintained for a while, then slowly crept back up. I want to lose 13 pounds without feeling deprived so that I will not rebound and regain the pounds yet again. I've been on this roller-coaster for most of my life. I live in the state of Washington with my husband, our dog and two cats. I enjoy walking, hiking and travel, and help out in the animal rescue field as a volunteer.

I am 23 and live in North Carolina. I have 2 dogs, and my female just had 9 puppies! A few of my goals are to eat healthier, exercise more, and lose about 20 lbs my new year's! emoticon I joined SP a couple of years ago but didn't really start being active until 3 months ago. I'm trying to do a meal/food related challenge each month as well as a fitness challenge. I've completed the Healthy Cooking Challenge and the 30 Days of Fit Food and am looking forward to beginning this one. I've become a great believer in not following severely restrictive diets. This looks like a fun and helpful challenge.

Konichiwa! My name is Tiff. I am very curious to see how this challenge will effect my weight. I am trying to create a healthy lifestyle and don't want to have to starve myself in order to do so. I am new here. I guess some of my goals is to lose weight to feel better. I have scoliosis and the extra 20-30 lbs I have gained in the last 3 years is really taking a toll. Hi All! Nance 120 here. Just joined the challenge so am in Week 1. I lost 20 lbs a few years back, then lost another 15. But..... Then I just held there and regained 5 of those lbs. I do know one of my main problems - I don't stay focused and on program. I have frequently been congratulated on my ability to be flexible at work. Unfortunately, I take flexibility to ridiculous levels such that I butterfly from this plan to that plan....
Then there is the "life gets in the way" attitude I tend to take....
But I think the 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge will help me refocus, build some supportive camaraderie, and teach me some better eating habits (like the problem of fast fooding too often..). I look forward to seeing all of us be successful with this challenge.

Thanks for the information, I will look into your suggestions. You are probably right about eating more if I'm not measuring and tracking. I travel a lot with work (sometimes 2- 3 weeks a month). it can be very detrimental to amounts not being able to measure. I do so much better when I'm working from home.

PJCMB701 I was stuck at the same weight before I left SP a couple of years ago. Not being able to figure out what was wrong, it finally got to me and I gave up. Now I'm starting all over again, but what I wanted to tell you is what I think was the problem was in hopes in might help you. First, after taking the portion distortion quiz in week 1 in this group I think I was actually consuming more calories than I thought. 2nd I believe I would have benefited from using a cleanse and burn kit. When I came back to SP I bought a "Jillian Michaels Jumpstart Your Weightloss Program 14 Day Cleanse and Burn." It came with a money back guarantee! I have been at the same weight for a long time after loosing 35 pounds. I took at two week break in exercising and tracking but today I am going to get back with the program. I need a boost and encouragement so I thought I needed a new challenge

Hello all.....I'm Patricia and I live in Daytona Beach. You would think because I live only 2.5 miles from the beach I would be there all the time right? Wrong! I hardly even go across the bridge to get there unless family is visiting.

I have never had to worry about what I ate, UNTIL I hit early menopause due to a much needed surgery. Now I can just look at food and gain a pound. I am hoping this challenge along with the entire SparkPeople can help me stay in control of what I eat and how I exercise so I can get to a weight I am comfortable at.

Hi,

I am Priyanka. I have been battling weight issues since my college. I am inspired by some of the success stories here on Spark. And I hope to achieve my goal of getting slim and trim and go buy a pair of skinny jeans to show myself off. I have stopped taking sugar with my tea, coffee, milk and other sugary sweets and snacks. I have stopped eating cakes and other bakery items, but I need to have some control over some of the delicious Indian foods I have grown up with. Hi I'm Kathy and I'm 54 and over the last 6 years, I've gained weight. I had poor eating habits and a sedentary job. I started eating unprocessed foods Sept 4and exercising and I've lost 10 pounds my first month. I joined this challenge because I'm not eating enough calories per day. I've been eating fruit, oatmeal, fish, chicken and salads and I'm exercising every day. I'm feeling better each day. I hope this challenge will aid me in reaching my second 10 pound goal and establish realistic eating habits.

Hello Everyone. My name is Lori. I am 52 years old, and I have struggled with my weight most of my life. Recently, my doctor informed me that I am pre-diabetic. That moment in his office was a wake up call for me. I knew I had to make some serious changes in my life. Hi everyone! My name is Jillian, I'm 35 about to turn 36 on the 30th of the month. I've slowly gained weight for years, but I'm just over it at this point. I'm sick of feeling sick. I need more energy to keep up with my 3 year old daughter. I'm only 5' tall & I weigh 162 as of yesterday. That is more then I ever thought I could weigh. I've been off & on with juicing. I truly love it, I just get lazy. The past 2 days I've started my day out with juice. Had a banana for a snack, a salad for lunch, & ate a regular dinner. I'm ready to do this! emoticon
