Hi, I'm Tee, an almost 65 year old wife, mother, grandmother. I've been on SP for a while and I did really well at first but seem to have lost my "mojo". I'm hoping this challenge will help me get my motivation and enthusiasm back.

I've been tracking everything I eat for the past three days and staying within my calorie range. Now I need to work on getting back to an exercise routine.

I'm Linda and I live in northern MT. I've been on SP for almost 3 months. Tracking really helps me. Not losing as fast as I'd like so want to try some new things. I'm doing low carb so eating lots of meat which I love but been craving and eating sweets this last week-something I have never done before. Usually I want salty crunchy things like chips and Cheetos and so this sweet craving is really strange. I think I'll go back on Atkins Induction for this challenge. I can eat meat and salad. I love veggies but fruit has so many calories it hardly seems worth it. Just looking for some inspiration and motivation.

The best cure for stressing is to count your blessings...and a long walk won't hurt either!

Never give up what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT!

Hi--My name is Kathy. I have been married for 31 years and have two sons. I am 51 and have struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. About 15 years ago I lost 140 pounds. I kept it off for about 2 1/2 years but eventually gain all but about 25 pounds. I have a very stressful job and over the last year have felt like I was spiraling out of control. In April I decided to take small steps to get healthy. One of my pitfalls is portion control so I started out by filling my plate first with vegetables and then lean protein and healthy starches. The next thing I needed to work on was getting some exercise so I began walking on the weekends. I started out walking 3 miles on Saturday and Sunday with a friend. I am now walking 3-5 miles at least 5 days a week. I have lost 51 pounds and have about 50 more to go. I am hopeful that with my newly learned skills and the support of spark people I will be able to meet my goal and keep the weight off this time.

Slow and steady wins the race!

Hi everyone! I'm Erin. I'm not new to spark, but I've been relatively inactive for a while on the site and just got back into it. I'm taking a different approach. For the last month I've been doing a relatively low-carb thing. It's satisfying and I'm eating loads of veggies, but I have a hard time meeting my base calorie needs sometimes because I'm just not hungry. It's quite the contrast from what happens when I try to eat the amount of carbs that is typically recommended to people (I never stop feeling hungry). I came back to use the food journal so I can keep an eye on my minimum calorie intake and make sure I meet it and I thought I'd delve into the site a little deeper and have some fun with a challenge.

My name is Bobbie and I am a participant in the BLC, CAMO team. I still need help with some areas (meaning I LOVE carbs and can make a complete diet of that alone), so I am hoping to get some new healthy ideas here.

Hi, I'm Sheila, and I love the idea of this challenge to help me get back on track with healthy eating for Fall. I had planned to get back on track in September, but this challenge is inspiring me to start earlier. :) I want to add in a fitness component for myself also.

I live in British Columbia, Canada. I'm single, work full time, and my interests include reading, walking (I enjoy it once I get started, but too often don't take those first steps to get started), spending time with friends, live theatre, word games (especially Wordscraper on Facebook -- any other WS players out there?), trying new recipes, and pets. I have a brown tabby cat named Roscoe. I've also just joined a knitting group; I'm new to this hobby but think it will be fun to learn.

Looking forward to interacting with my fellow Spark challenge members!

Hey all! I'm Bri. My wellness journey is quite long and involved. In a nutshell, I used Spark to lose 50 pounds for my wedding. Two months later I found out I was pregnant, gaining 75 pounds during a somewhat complicated pregnancy including two months of bedrest. I have been struggling the last four years to get that baby weight off, struggling with a variety of set backs including injuries, stress, and other personal struggles. This summer I found a fantastic group of people that have helped me get on a better path, and find myself going back to school 15 pounds lighter (I am a teacher). I still have 20 pounds to lose, and find myself slipping as schedules get busier and the stress begins to build again. Knowing what a great tool Spark has been for me in the past, I decided to come back and hopefully keep up the progress that I have made so far.

Hello!

My name is Mindee, and I am making this next year of my life count! I just turned 31 this past Saturday, and I a sitting here with a goal of losing 130 pounds in order to be at a comfortable weight for my height!

I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have three amazing kids! They are getting older and becoming more active, so I want to be able to keep up with them and not having to watch on the sidelines as they play and run around!

I am not sure what else to put in here, if I forgot anything, just ask away! I have been a member on here since 2006, which is after I had my second child and before I had my third child. So, I have found when I have structure and routine I do better at losing weight and hitting my goals!

Hi all my name is Bella. I am new here. I have COPD and have been on steroids. Inactivity has made me put on way too much weight. I am borderline diabetic and my cholesterol is also borderline . I need help!!! LOL I love to eat, it was never a problem before because I burned off the calories. I was a manager for a food service at a college and was contently on the go. I had to retire when I got COPD and it's been down hill since then. So I'm here to learn all I can and inch my way back to health. Or at least better than I am now.

Hello all, I hope this is the right way to introduce myself. I have just rejoined SP as I need motivation and accountability on a daily basis. I am not very computer savvy so it took me some trial and error to post this. I am 70 years young, still working full time and living alone. I often cook for my friends and for church functions, but planning meals on a daily basis that feed just me and does not waste food is a challenge. Also all those church functions are pot lucks for the most part and quite a challenge.

I have been inactive for over a year due to an injury and surgery. I did limp out of bed this morning holding on to the bed till my legs got moving, went to the closet to get my gym bag and then did 30 gentle minutes of cardio on the elliptical and bike. A good start I think.

Need to go prep some veggies for lunch. emoticon

Hi Everyone!

I'm getting back in action here on SP after taking a break from tracking. I've lost 35lbs over the past 14 months, and know that SP works for me! I recently injured myself (herniated disc :/) and am limited in my options for working out. I decided to join this team as a way to stay accountable for my food intake, which is something that I have control of right now in this weight loss battle. Anyway about me: I'm 28, 219lbs, 5'7", in grad school, living with super supportive partner, and figuring out how to get my daily endorphins in! :)

I'm a 56 year old teacher. This summer has been my healing. In April our son died and it was after that I decided I was not going to be our family's next tragedy. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have struggled. I have spent this summer Sparking. Although I still feel like a novice when it comes to navigating through it all, I am enjoying how my body is responding. My checkup this week had my doctor & his assistant marveling at the changes. They told me they wished all their patients were like me and wished I could talk to them. From tragedy to triumph!

Hello all! I'm a returning Sparker, and have always struggled more with the food part of fitness than the exercising part. I like weightlifting, LOVE yoga, and can stand cardio. But I LOVE food! I enjoy healthy stuff for sure, but crave bakery-style stuff the most. I decided to join this challenge to learn a little more about balancing the two.

I'm Penny and I am a little stuck in the weight loss department. I do pretty well with food but I have a tendency to skip meals sometimes; plus I am a carb junkie so that's not helping me. I love fruits and veggies but I love carbs more! I am hoping to learn some tools and gain some insight with this challenge. I am currently training for a 5K so I am getting my exercise in. I need some help with the food.

My name is Lori, I am 46 years old. I am trying to get on track so I thought I would start with the basics. Tracking, eating fruits and veggies, planning meals and calories the day before so that I can eat in my range. I have 20 weeks until my birthday and I want to loose 30-40 lbs. My action plan is to not eat empty calories, whatever I eat has be nutritious.

Hello everyone - my name is Gloria. I am no stranger to sparkpeople, but I have really been struggling to stay within my calorie range. I love to exercise so no problem there. I do like most vegetables and fruits so I am hoping this challenge will help me to be more accountable with staying in my calorie range and that I will finally lose that last 15 lb. :)

Hi everyone, I am also returning to SP after about 6 years. My emotional eating was getting out of hand and I went up to 200 plus pounds. I am seeking other employment and I figured being over weight and a bit older has become a challenge for me,I can't get any younger but I an lose weight and feel better about myself. Have been doing great with the vegetables, I use a smaller plate and try different colors and presentations everyday.

Well, I'm back on SP. I've been on/off this site for 2 and a half years. I am at my highest weight yet. I'm a single (engaged but not living together) mom and fulltime student.

I don't have a lot of trouble adding veggies/fruits to my diet, I use a Nutribullet (when I'm focused on eating health). My biggest issue comes after a long day with my kids... when I'm finally alone, watching t.v. and de-stressing...I tend to end up eating.

Now, I am almost 35 and at risk for diabetes with slightly elevated cholesterol levels. So, I really feel like I have to do this NOW or I am in danger of becoming very ill.

A challenge usually motivates me and this seemed interested.

Hi everyone,
My name is Claudia. I joined this team because I need help with my eating habits. The exercise has been great, but I can't say the same thing about my diet. Choosing and planing for meals can be difficult. I'll learn a lot in this challenge!

Hi everyone, My name is Stacey. I have been a spark member for four weeks and have only managed to maintain my weight.

That said I am happy with my progress. The past month has been hard with stress, travel, business, etc. But I made it a priority to exercise when I could. I have also tracked my food (even on the ugly days) and managed to make a lot of healthier decisions because of that.

As a result, I feel much more energized and healthy than I did four weeks ago, even if I am not seeing it on the scale yet.

I am finally ready to tackle the eating with more discipline and really get off this weight. I thought this would be a great challenge to hold me accountable. I really needs tips to eat healthier without feeling hungry all the time.
